There is probably an upfront cost and then a metered bandwith cost, if the show is attracting far more traffic than they planned they could rack up huge costs very quickly. It's like cellphone overages, the rates are designed to fuck you.

I think it works in a credit system and it’s just getting drained so fast due to the viewership. Each viewer is streaming 11 video feeds constantly, etc.
If the site just streamed the active camera and updated thumbnails for the others that’d probably save so much.
If they are streaming all those feeds independently that seems stupidly expensive. They should be streaming a single 4k feed and then breaking it up into smaller sections and isolating/up-scaling them via script.
Seriously, they could have cut on bandwidth in so many ways. When viewing all cams, you could compress the shit out of the quality and probably throw out 75% of the frames. Whoever is in charge of the tech is either or retard, or too intimidated by Sam to tell him shit like "we're going to exceed our web services cap soon" and "I'm too incompetent to figure out how to save you bandwidth and not fuck your hosting costs".
Will they tell the contestants why paypig TTS went quiet or will they leave them in the dark? I'm picturing him bringing the camera crew in and telling the fish that shit hit the fan all of a sudden.
