I don’t think that Jet is to blame for her death, but I also don’t think that Ellie told her sister everything that she thought and felt towards the end of her life.

Every person I know personally that killed themselves didn’t seem “that bad” right up to the point that they killed themselves, according to their family and friends.

Usually they are happy because they came to the conclusion that they are definately doing it and know when.
 
The sad fact is that the people most likely to go on Fishtank are also the people one step away from doing something like this. Goes hand in hand with the contestants being maladjusted, depressed and autistic social outcasts. Bongo saying that one time she was close to harming herself prior to going on the show is most likely her just saying the quiet part out loud. I think Jimmy said something similar. Horrible outcome either way.

Unfortunately this is endemic to the entire Gen Z. They have a litany of sex hang ups, so being told by a thousand terminally online weirdo half-stalkers that you were groomed by "Jet Nepstein" probably didn't help those delusions.

Uh I remember a part of season 4 where he's interviewing her about what she wants to do in life, and when she said she was thinking of going to college for film he told her not to bother and just start doing whatever. He was basically like college is a waste of time. I dunno how much to trust her sister's account of things, her family shouldn't have even let her go on the show

I feel sorry for Ellie, she wasn't the brightest but she was very pretty. She could've gone to college and gotten a fake email job and a well off guy to take care of her before getting Nepstein'd. I wouldn't be surprised if the shame of it all did set her off in part. If she was smart she could've DFE'd, changed her name and pretended it never happened, but she was too mentally ill to stop seeking attention from 4chan I suppose
 
It really recontextualizes the last 2 months and everything that's happened with them going dark. Suzie dying was one thing, tragic but not unheard of for a little person in late middle age. Ellie though, Jesus. There's a lesson here about assuming the worst about people that nobody will take away from this, unfortunately.

e; damn also really recontextualizes Ben's Insta live the other day talking about wanting to be back around friends and family above anything else :(

It's a good thing we all are understanding that he's a good guy, that encouraged her and it's not that JET NEPTUNE RAPED AND KILLED A GIRL IN SEASON 4

Really though, it's very sad. She was a bad contestant but just a kid that shouldn't have been there, and hopefully her sister is right that it had not influence in what she did and was a wild life experience she enjoyed before unfortunately taking her life.

I can't get it to unbold.

That was before he hit. Gassing her up about college is just a convenient way to get her to leave afterwards without having to tell her to leave.

He could also frame it as the older guy “caring” about the younger girl by trying to be a mentor and telling her to go to college.

i can forsee the TTS meta for season 6 will be spamming jet about this

however i think ellie mightve had the sense of humor to condone that for the show’s behalf

I also think there was some signs she was involved in some kind of Discord grooming before she was on the show. That's probably a more likely contribution than Fishtank or Nepstein. I was never that offended by them hooking up. We forget how young Jet is from how he's aged himself, and it was more in poor taste for Jet for a multitude of reason than it was really predatory.

That actually reminds me, as much as I talk about Freddy being a scumbag, I remember a moment in Season 4 were Ellie was talking about weird sex shit she had been told about, and Freddie had a very mature response telling her that stuff isn't real, people don't act like porn.
