With a (questionable) W from James Drake, how would you rate season 5 of Fishtank?

  • 1 Star — Absolute disaster. Unwatchable, boring, production fucked it up bad, the fish were lame

She started dating him in March 2024. So, it's been a year, I guess. Although, she would now claim she's no longer in a relationship despite it's still obvious that she is.
 
Should make a new poll guessing what the new season is going to be exactly. Regular season, gimmick short season, partial season with BG2 rugpull, regular season with simultaneous BG2 (please no), Jet inflation-cam, or something else entirely.
 
Burt keeps a photo of Mizzy on his desk to look at while he streams for "comfort." This was revealed by Greg, who saw the photo while on face time with Burt on last night's stream. The photo is not visible to the audience, and has never been mentioned before now (afaik).

I find Burt and Mizzy's relationship to be very strange and funny. It seems to me that Mizzy is using Burt for clout while pretending to be a caring friend, and Burt is completely in love with her. Burt is arriving in LA today and is presumably going to link up with Mizzy while he's there.

I would bet most MDE fans are 30+, most of us started back in the 4chan mirror selfie days. FishTank is definitely more IP2/zoomer adjacent now, but obviously there's a ton of crossover.

I'm not a new MDE fan. I've been following Sam since I was in my late teens - well over a decade ago now. The point I was making, in that post, and the one before it, was that I believe its embarrassing that Goblina (and this goes for CryoKeen and Aperture, too) is tryharding so much to try and be a major community member, in the FT community, which is mostly dominated by zoomers, to the extent she is. I think it's sad that she's in her 40s, and is still trying to be an MDE/FT groupie. While we're about average age for the wider Sam Hyde/MDE community, the FT community skews heavily towards new age zoomer MDE fans, and zoomers who don't care about MDE at all, or Sam beyond his appearances on FT.

That's when I started, too. I don't take issue with her specifically for her age... I take issue with her behaving the way she does for someone of her age in the zoomer-dominated FT community. She's also extremely uninteresting.

I'm closing in on 30 and this is exactly how I found Sam. Someone posted 2077 Paradigm shift and the Williamsburg street fashion interviews on /v/ in 2012-2013 and that's how I got into MDE.

Even back in the pre-world peace era MDE was popular amongst edgy teens. It's not unusual for it to be appealing to the teenage to late 20s male audience like any other edgy comedy product. Think cumtown or for you oldheads, the Howard Stern Show. If you looked at stream stars, season 2, or even the auditions, most of the people there were in their 20s. Granted, there is a difference between those who consume the product and those who want to be a part of it, which is why its mostly younger people with less to lose and less developed senses of shame. Goblina is absolutely out of place.

Unfortunately, I think it can be safely assumed that the majority of current Sam Hyde fans are zoomers who only found out about him through idubbz. And for the record, I started watching in 2013ish so I am cool.

My first exposure to MDE was the premiere of World Peace on Adult Swim, so this was my very first experience with MDE

I was hooked and 5 weeks later and the show was fucking cancelled for being too based before they could even finish the season and I was so pissed off.
