April 2024 would make so much sense, the weekly episodes are keeping the show in the public eye (and the fish are still making their own content). The "two seasons a year" should happen once they have everything ironed out which they definitely do not. I also think they'll get less of an audience in December/January but we'll see.

I don't know about that. I think if they did it in spring enough of the hype from season 1 would still be around for it to be popular. Fishtank is a cult show and cult things have very dedicated followings. I think they could do it in April and be fine. Would give Jet time to finish up editing season 1 which would help bring more hype towards 2.

Just going for it as soon as possible is not a bad idea. Being 'prepared' is overrated and they faced that with season 1 already. They need to get real good at moving along with what arises from locking 8 people in a house for 6 weeks, they were pretty good with it already and honing that is the more important thing.
They also get real experience readying for the pace of running this biannually.

Honestly yeah, especially from a money perspective, when the first season started every slacker got their tax refund and college sports was over. but now the winter money will be super tight. even moving it to January might help a bit, but in terms of cash i highly doubt their paypigs will be shelling the money out this time around.

Josie easily was their biggest money maker and Jon gave them free content the first half of the show. It just feels like The Joe Schmoe Show where they got so fucking lucky with the contestants the first season and it just fell apart for season two. And i feel like so many reality shows 20 years ago they get lucky with contestants and concept hitting perfectly and the next time it goes to shit because the contestants and what little they change with the core concept doesn't work out either.

Jet is complaining about us not giving him slack but honestly yeah we shouldn't. editing is like driving, if some faggot zoomer with no drivers license picked you up when you uber'd when you were expecting the sort of competency someone with a certification has you'd be pissed. And thats sort of why we're giving him shit, in general editing is a skill most people expect someone to have if they're making a "show" and enough weirdos have gone to a directing school or worked in the industry long enough to pick up how to make that shit. Or even more than that, were "practicing" making videos with their buddies for so long that they picked up the skill along the way like most people of Sam's generation that became content creators.

Jet even showed us we were right by how good episode 3 came out compared to the first two. If he's this much of a fuckhead now, imagine how much worse it will be by the time he finishes the fucking thing. Or better yet starts season 2. Yeah, it was the one thing I was not even considering. When they announced the timing of episode 1 I counted out 10 weeks immediately and saw it would end on Dec 18th and went "hahaha, imagine if S2 started then, yeah right!"

Who's going to be watching on New Year's? If I were the producers I'd fuck the clocks up super hard, tell the fish it was midnight way too early, and try to get them all in bed by 8PM before all the viewers step out for the evening.

The version of episode 1 that is par to 3 only needed the missing context that could simply have been ripped from the old trailer, and the audio clip of Sam giving Sylvia cash for winning, and it would have been as good as it needed to be. I know Jet is capable of doing it right, I don't think he's a hack, but I think he's taking some scenes for granted because he's too standing too close to the thing. Like painting a whale standing two feet away from it.

Way back in the day Sam used to stream on Christmas Eve. For three years in a row he streamed on Christmas Eve and that was the only time he ever streamed. I wasn't anywhere near my family and was working during the holidays so I remember that stream being very comfy. Not power leveling, just saying that people are still going to watch during the holidays and Sam knows that better than anyone.

I think the holidays are a great time for something like Fishtank especially for people who normally don't have anything better to do.

there's a difference between a "christmas special" type stream and one like this, even if Sam demanded the show's 2nd season start in December or be over the holidays like i said, christmas season no ones shelling out thousands to buy pushies for non-loved ones. Jet should have either delayed season one and start season two in october to jump start on holiday related events and extend it past the new year (end on Jan 6th?) or had some planned stream for christmas introducing the new house or be a marathon of the entire show or be like those post-season "reunion" episodes they do after the seasons over for reality shows like the bachelor where these people meet up and go over their experiences. or do all of that.

Because i just don't think people will be giving money to this especially if its starting in december, financially we're in the lean months for people. there's a reason the first two months of the year no ones doing jack shit pretty much anywhere and its because everyone takes those two months to recover financially from the holiday season, even movies are typically shit during those months because so few people show up, valentines day and the super bowl being the only big events held during those months and for a good chunk of the population neither is an expensive holiday. March is when people got their savings up and get those tax refunds and can spend it on dumb bullshit like spring break or internet tv shows.

My main fears with season 2 is that the participant will only be people that know about fish tank. Like orbiters on twitter are legit the worst option. There's way less magic if the person knows about the show and Sam.

Live streams in all their messy, autistic glory, are for fans and people watchers.
Episodes are for people who want to be told a story.

He's got the first down well enough, assuming he builds on the S1 hiccups in S2. Any truly ambitious show has problems.

The second bit he's forgotten - mostly because he shouldn't be the one editing. He's too close to the fish, too close to the show, and both too focused on his vision and too unfocused on the stories that actually happened.

Far as the fish post season go - I'm really impressed with Sylvia. Not the sort of person I'd take for a pint, but she's done what she wanted to and seems a fuckton happier.
