To be fair to Chris, seterus is known as a predatory lender. They usually buy your mortgage account and then claim you're missing past payments, threaten foreclosure, etc. So it could be Barb, or it could be Seterus. It's really a toss up here

Edit: It could be that the mortgage company is dodgy...or it could be that their business is lending to people who have poor credit rating and who claim 'they say we missed a payment but we didn't' when they know they did, they just don't want to admit it. In a toss up between the company being shifty or Chris lying, the latter is going to be true 99.9% of the time.

Mortgage companies that deal with seconds and low value properties have to be agressive, they deal with people who make the Chandlers look like shining beacons of humanity. Not to say they are perfect but you need to be heavy handed when you are often defaulted on.
I don't see them as money grubbing assholes as much as a person who has a household getting 2 gov checks a free paid off house and that's still not good enough to buy hoard shit so they borrow against the house.
