Final Fantasy XIV - Kiwi Free Company

Soon done with all the ARR endgame content. I was wondering why Navel Extreme had a reputation as a pug killer, realized quickly it's because you can't be resurrected if you get pushed off the platform, so no "oppsie woppsie" resses.
Also fully cleared Second Coil of Bahamut with pugs. Wondering if I should do the rest with unsynched party finder. I'm starting to realize I got lucky clearing turn 3 and turn 4 of second coil with pugs and with just one wipe each.

Also it seems to really help in ARR content to just tell people to stop worrying about DPS and focus on mechanics. Everyone is over geared as it is, and after wiping four times to the medusa boss in turn 2 of second coil it seemingly helped to just tell people to pay more attention to their debuff than doing their rotation perfectly, and just run away rather than trying to win extra seconds of DPS.
A lot of people seem to be entering old trials and raids worried about DPS checks.
Was running Google Library and both dps were complaining that their dps was low. Unsurprisingly they sucked shit at mechanics.

On other news, i popped back in for some reason on Salted XIV for a random guide and to this day, they still have the massive spergout front and center to any newcomer that visits the site lol

Each xpac at its core has like 20 hours worth of MSQ (assuming you watch cutscenes), and each minor patch usually adds 2 hours or so. So you still have like 60 hours plus to go.
Oh yes, I've been watching cutscenes and reading text barring what I missed with my itchy trigger finger clicking one too many times. Maybe by the end of the month, I'll hit the end of Shadowbringers leaving just under 3 months to explore old content and maybe level other jobs before Endwalker drops. I don't even know where I want to begin when I get there. I feel like a cat that has died and can't tell whether they're in heaven or hell because there's at least 500 different red laser dots to chase after simultaneously.

It actually makes me look forward to IcyVeins potentially being a decent hub for FFXIV class guides, if only so we don't have to deal with this cliquey spergery that seems to infect the theorycraft community in this game.

I was in that position as well.
I've spend that time making money for our free company so we could buy a fc house by leveling my gatherers to 80 using ishgard renovation and selling wood, besides that I tried to level each of one role for the shadowbringers role quests, A dragoon, A paladin, A white mage, and a black mage.
Now im kind of just sitting in goldsaucer limbo, logging in for cactpot, pvp, and queue and logging off again.

There's a couple ideas I'm sitting on. First off, I'm thinking of exploring Blue Mage content when I'm done. I've always loved Blue Mages in prior Final Fantasies. It's just a shame it can't be used as a regular class.

Second, and this one will sound weird, but, I'm thinking of learning Warrior. How I go about learning it will be what's odd however. I love self imposed challenges and I haven't done one in a while. They say Palace of the Dead is hard to complete and that shiny Necromancer title looks pretty nifty. If it's as hard as they say, Palace of the Dead would definitely push me to my limits. It's also very much possible as exactly one individual in my data center has completed it:

Worst case scenario? The challenge is far above my level of skill but I have some fun trying anyway. Those Kinna weapons look pretty cool too.

They basically prevent it from working if it would allow you to cheese a mechanic wholesale. But really, the slow's main use is for tanks - everyone else should realize it's a free way to keep pumping out damage, especially casters. Or at the very least, a way to save yourself from death if you fucked up your positioning on something like Omega. For most of the playerbase? They probably don't remember it's an ability.
Honestly Arm's length is just my "I'm pulling 4 packs at once and I don't want my healer to kill themselves/me" button, the slow mixed with reprisal + shadow wall means you won't die even with the most brain dead of healbots.

Finally gave crafting a whirl; it's a lot of fun until I run out of starter capital. Still not entirely sure how to make money in this game.
Step 0: Check listings on thing you want to sell to make sure it's worth something
Step 1: Have retainer sell thing on Market Board
Step 2: Hope that it sells within the next week and that it doesn't get undercut to shit

Alternative option: Take a gatherer into the Diadem and do a single lap of the nodes, then sell what you get on the Market Board. FC leader recently informed me that he's making 200k an hour doing this so far.

Thanks for the tip. Level 50 weapons and accessories appear to sell okay, and I just need a little bit more cash to push me from 41 to 50 blacksmithing. Already got 50 mining, so I should have an income source of some kind before long.

Pro tip for low capital players, gatherers are miles better than crafters. Being able to just buy tools and hit rocks/trees is such a simpler method to gain quick money than figuring out how to craft and just getting unlucky anyway to miss HQ. I rarely used my crafters for money, I just ran around for a few hours hitting rocks. Also a miner/botanist retainer is quite helpful for ventures.

If you need seed capital, remember to run roulettes as well. They give a variable amount of gil based on level but at level 80 you can make ~25k gil per day just by playing the game.
