Some of the bigger streamers/tubers are on Aether.
Honestly it doesn't matter as one of the 6.X releases is going to introduce DataCenter travel, meaning they can ostensibly go anywhere. Tens of thousands of some of the most rabid WoW fans will descend on some unsuspecting FFXIV server like locusts.
4v4 Matchmaking technically exists, but all of the rating is personal.
The Feast Rankings | FINAL FANTASY XIV, The Lodestone
Seasonal rankings for the Feast will soon be underway, and updated daily on the Lodestone. At the end of the season, players will receive special seasonal rewards based on their final ranking.
Dedicated teams generally only queue for the first ~10 or so days of the season (no rating decay) so for everyone else it's Solo Queue for an overwhelming majority or literally 100% of the time. The game doesn't have a large PVP population, although they're looking at a "medium scale" mode somewhere between feast (4 per team) and frontlines/rw (24 per team).

This brings up a point that was mentioned earlier in this thread where most FFXIV players only play FFXIV, and act irrational when realizing there are other video games to play.

Recently JesseCox has been streaming himself writing a script for a FFXIV vs WoW video he's going to be producing soon. One part that struck me was talking about the mindset that WoW trains you to have when approaching the game. WoW sets you up to find a quest hub, sweep through the quests and muscle through them as fast as possible, ignore the quest text, then move on to the next hub. Jesse himself admitted he ended up approaching FFXIV initially with that exact same mindset. It wasn't until he broke through that training and approached FFXIV through a standard video games/JRPG lens that he was able to finally really mesh with the game.
I'm hoping that Asmon can come to the same realization. I don't think he'll enjoy the game, but I hope that he'll be able to find parts that he appreciates, Then he can use those to see where WoW needs to improve upon and use it as a contrast point.
I don't have much hope however. Along the same lines, I was recently reading this long discussion thread that was posted on the /WOW/ subreddit. While there were some fair points to be had, there was an OVERWHELMING amount of posts that basically amounted to "This system isn't exactly like the WoW system, so Wow is just plain superior because of it". A couple of examples:
- Endless amounts of 'collecting' transmog appearences and mounts is 'good content'. 99% of which you'll never use, but you get to check a box on a list.
- Timewalking in WoW is superior to Sync/Min iLvl because you get 'current' level content rewards. FFXIV you just get 'old' gear.
- The 100s of hours of content you get having a story being told to you by FFXIV is comperable to the '100's' of hours of content you get by redoing all of the old Content in Wow by soloing content that's not balanced to current game standards
- The rez weakness/vulnerabilty debuff system is bad and "too punishing", and should just be wholesale replaced by WoWs limited battle rez system
- Quote - "FFXIV gives 12 raid bosses PER EXPANSION and they all take place on identical circular platforms with no interrupts, no creative use of the arena to do mechanics.. it's group jump rope really."
- Quote - "WoW patches traditionally come with a lot of content. 8.3 came with two revamped zones, a group flexible rotating dungeon (Visions), a raid with 12 bosses, a new gearing system (Corruption), and a lengthy multi-week quest line. A patch in FF14 is a questline that can be completed in 3 hours, a dungeon, and MAYBE a raid boss (If its the right time, maybe its an Alliance raid)."
- "(FFXIV) is simply not story, though. Those '100 hours' are over 90% running around on lowest fetch quest level."

In my experience that's how most people react to any other game or form of entertainment starting to step on the toes of their own. They start making up bullshit, angrily rant against it, then declare they'll never touch it. Then 6 months to a year later they're playing it or have at least tried it out. It's always the ones that are loudest about 'remaining faithful' that are doing that crap, WoW players are just deeper than most in the sunk cost zone.

Spofie's hug box is on Crystal; Coeurl specifically. I wonder what would happen if their audiences collided. But would be funny to see them terrorize the spergs on Aether as well.
Watching anyone play FFXIV on stream is pretty boring overall but I think Asmon can make it entertaining. Can't wait to see which datacenter he goes with.

Friend of mine seems to think he'll be inclined to pick Primal. In the end, wherever he is, we'll all probably lose. Especially since he'll bring in WoWfugees right before we get Data Center travel added to the game.

A question does come to mind - which community is worse? I know little about Asmofag save for a few clips, I don't know what his fans are like but I know hardcore streamer fans are faggots no matter what arena of the internet you reside in. We all know what kind of retardation is in the XIV community. Half of it is okay, but the other half is like we discussed before - FFXIV community is filled with fags that treat it like Twitter, especially trannies who aren't afraid to mash the report button for wrong think.
Is the WoW community the same? I never really played WoW, I tried it years ago and I didn't think it was a bad game, I just preferred FF gameplay and visuals, so I'm not sure if WoW's community is as shit as FFXIV?

Asmongold is a stuck-up, shitty spirited asshole who regularly gets carried around on a metaphorical litter by his fanbase. He's used to his opinions being treated as gospel and naturally he's incredibly critical of the smallest shit. His fans flood whatever he touches to have a slim chance to be seen on screen with him and have crushed many a server under the raw weight of their autism. They also tend to scream whatever bullshit meme is currently popular and are pseudo-elitists because they'll follow whatever idea of 'the best <thing>' Asmon barfs up.
It's a hard toss-up to say who is worse between rice-paper thin skin from XIV players or Asmon's throng of retards but either way its gonna suck. They'll get on like a house fire, one that if we're lucky can be watched from a safe distance.

The remaining WoW players are all holier-than-thou try-hards that think anyone who started playing during or after X expansion are the reason the game sucks now. For example, they spent close to a decade pissing and moaning for official Vanilla (WoW 1.0 content) servers, lost in the idea that that's when all the real content happened. They then were pissed that Classic content turned out to be easier than they remember because they were dumb kids when it first came out.
Take savage and ultimate elitism, lessen it slightly, and apply it to the general player-base. You now have WoW players for the past couple expansions.

I remember being called a wrath baby supposedly for not liking harder content, no, I just don't want to do hard content with random people that I'm not acquainted with that suck and waste my time, which was a big problem with the dungeon finder in early Cataclysm.
