I always like watching the amiami rankings because once a character popular with women is released, women open their wallets quickly. Similar to Zhongli for Genshin Impact and all the Love and Deepspace lads.

As much as women complain about guys being gooners and spending money on overly sexualized female characters, they are also the worst offenders when it comes to stuff like this. I promise you that they make nens of popular male characters and the girls and gays will readily throw their money around.

Finally completed my Zodiac Weapon Zeta. Light farm was actually super easy, I spammed Ifrit ex and each fight took 6 seconds. A light bonus window also happened to roll by for the fight in the middle of the farming which made it faster. Now I can finally say I completed a full Zodiac relic for one of my main jobs and will never touch that quest line ever again. Still surprised I was able to fully complete one for my other main while the content was still current.

Grats! I did this for my main job a few years ago, vowed to never do it again. As time passed the pain lessened and I was stupid enough to start another one the other month after realising I had few weapon glams for that job. I haven't even finished the first book yet because as soon as I got to that stage, the will just departed. I'm sure I'll get round to it before EC.

In all seriousness, I feel like using the word "incel" is inaccurate these days. When you think about it, most people are outright avoiding relationships because they feel it's more trouble than it's worth, even if it's more fulfilling and that's kinda sad.

In the context of like...this game and fandoms in general, I found ones that are predominantly female tend to be the worst of the worst. This includes anime (especially BL), otome games, and male vtubers (BFEs in particular). Also a higher ratio of asian women, but that's a discussion for another time.

It's also bad in FF14 too. The same broads thirsting after Bakool Ja Ja and G'Raha Tia are the same broads who will turn around and talk about how men are degenerate, disgusting and should be killed off like pigs. Like...it's fine if you wanna be a degen. My issue is when you wanna place your own degeneracy on higher moral standard and act like there's degrees to it. Yes, it was actually a thing. There was a twitter account made for the express purpose of posting thirst tweets of him. It actually surprised the devs I think with how popular Bakool Ja Ja became.

I'm also reminded of the whole Girls Only Discord that was advertised nearly every 10s on Chaos back during EW. Initially I considered joining it despite never usually joining all female groups, thought maybe it'd be a good place to spark up some friendships outside of my then FC. Only not only did the ads become more obnoxious, people were heckling the people advertising and somehow they'd managed to make the server both a tranny hugbox and anti-tranny. I'm still not sure how that happened and the specifics back then were pretty vague, but that was wild to hear both from regular women and trannies.
But yeah, I knew someone who fit exactly what you described there, only it was Emet. That's the other one they schlick over and I don't get it. Well written character but I can't say I've ever felt anything romantic towards any NPC and I've felt weird for it sometimes because there's so many women (including pooners) who apparently do. I just get tired of the playerbase being so fucking thirsty about any pixels they come across in game, piloted by another person or otherwise. I'm not a prude but fucking hell XIV players are exhausting when it comes to that shit.

I think the closest I've ever had to a 'thirst' for anyone in this game was Moenbryda and that was a combination of being a scholarly amazon and being 'besties' (I'm still convinced it was an attempted romance that SE reeled back on since this game seems to be averse to the main cast actually having romantic relationships) with my boy Urianger.

But I was never as down bad as a majority of this fanbase seems to be. No fanfics with my OC, no commisioned Rule 34, and no harassing the VA either. Makes me wonder if part of it is because a large portion of the players treat this game as a second life and so their perversions come through more because of their unhealthy relationship with this game.

That or its something that they think makes them 'different' since digital narcissism has made people more insane over the years as their egos can't cope with the fact that we are all kinda just boring to the world at large.

Sir as a guy who made a Hroth as an alt because they look neat I take (some) offense to this. This is something that's been on my mind a lot since EW too. I wonder if it's a seed they're planting on the long shot they might need some new naturally absurdly powerful villain to pop up in the future. In the short term, it's really not something that is a concern to us because the timeframe here is just a bit too long, so it'd all just be theory and planning around "what ifs"

What's strange is during EW, iirc, they played a little with the dating sim aspect when everyone had down time and you could choose who you wanted to come to your room and whose room you wanted to visit. It stood out as weird because that's usually a dating mechanic and XIV didn't pander to those fans before that.

Graha in game is annoying because I think they push him to have a crush on you without your character being able to say no. It could be a translation error too. I've read the same is for Allisaie in English and comes off as a lesbian, but in Japanese her character is very different, she's star struck.

I agree with the poster who said they should have given the group their own relationships, at least their characters wouldn't stagnate. Thancred was implied with Minfillia and became a dad, sorta. Urianger had a possible relationship with Moenbryda; rip, they would have been cute, and of course Yshtola has her implied crush on Runar. Estinien is like Batman so he will continue to be cool as he saves the realm on his terms.

Another way to shake up the Scions is to let the twins grow up into their giraffe selves. There would be too much backlash though. I've always lamented how ugly the elves look in XIV. No hate to those who rock elezen though, it's not for me. Lastly, if Hrothgar were modeled better I think they'd find more popularity outside of bara circles. Their hunchback default stance and stretched clothes on the figure make it kinda lame. If they were not as blocky (and used a new frame) they could look like the Ronso in X, closer to Avatar cats.
