The annoying thing is I easily clear the first 9 levels solo, but the level 10 boss is a brick wall until you level up your aetherpool, except you can only get aetherpool by clearing, which is hard because the boss fucking sucks.
It's sucky to solo Pilgrim's Traverse, but not impossible. I managed to reach the floor 20 boss solo before I ran out of fucks to keep trying.

Gunbreaker Master Race

I'm not saying it's impossible, I'm saying it's boring as fuck because smacking a HP sponge for 10 minutes while it repeats the same two mechanics isn't the most riveting gameplay.

I'll be fair, those adds are kind of tough to burst down given how quickly the mechanic repeats

Man I love coming back to the game and attempting to do content only to find myself locked out of it because it's the content that dies as soon as the next patch is out. Just put the 1-30 floors of the deep dungeons in the duty finder like regular duties for fucks sake and leave the higher levels for PF. Why do I need to be in a specific zone to queue for it? It was retarded when PotD release and it's still retarded now.

I went back to clear the first floors to complete a weekly. By floor 5 some borgor kang crown was threatening to kick me because instead of clearing the whole floor with him and the sprouts for "muh aetherpool", I camped at the exit after killing half of the mobs by myself. Fuck these people.

While half asleep this morning a thought occured to me that the Evangelion collab might be in reference to the Human Instrumentality Project. It is possible the nature of the shards will be the primary theme of the collab, fusing every person of the Source and shards back into their original state of Ethyrian ancient.

As a result of Third Impact, all Lilin souls would be gathered into Lilith's Egg and united as one being. This would create transcendental abstract levels of existence where nobody existed singularly, but merely as part of the whole. In Instrumentality, the flaws in every living being would be complemented by the strengths in others, thus erasing the insecurities in people's hearts. https://evangelion.fandom.com/wiki/Human_Instrumentality_Project
In this way, suddenly I am not very excited for the collab anymore if it's just retracing the same Ascian bullshit we've been fighting against since 1.0. Looking forward as to how the shards can be recombined without massive destruction since two places cannot exist at a time, like how Mor Dhona and the Crystarium exist in the same spot as a mirror. Allegedly. I dunno I havent worked up the nerve to finally play patch 7.1 msq don't bully me pls.

Minus what the bastard did to my boy Yiazmat. The FFXIV design was made as part of the crossover if I recall correctly, which is why it looks so different to its origin
I think you are confusing things (or me) the Garo crossover were PvP mounts and armour (whicha re still pretty popular for glamour, especially the caster sets) you could get just for playing pvp with a title on.
Yiazmat is the FF12 Alliance raids from stormblood, no?

Yiazmat is the final boss of the second Stormblood alliance raid, The Ridorana Lighthouse. As part of the Garo collab, one of the designers redesigned Yiazmat, and it looks fucking horrendous. I believe technically this predated the actual PvP collab, but I'm still mad at them

Edit: Nope. Garo collab started in January 2017, the raid was added in May 2018.

Huh, I actually didn't know that was why Yiazmat looks like shit. The more you know.
But point still stands, the collab wasn't really tied to mainline content and was added to existing content.
Like if the Evangelion crossover was some Varient dungeon storyline or whatever it'd be better.

Really not a fan of crossovers like Neir taking up major content slots like Alliance raids. Not that they do shit with alliance raids, but thats another story.

Can agree with that, I'm just being a sperg.

The Neir raids also being shit doesn't help, to be fair. Good music, but absolutely miserable to play through.
Puppet's Bunker is the only one approaching fun in my opinion.

Yazumi Matsuno was the writer for the Return to Ivalice collab. Yazmat is a shortening of his own name. If he wanted to redesign his self-insert character alongside Keita Amemiya, I dont see the problem.

Been getting the itch more and more to play again. Might move my plans to start a free trial account when Evercold drops to see how Evolved Mode works out.

Even been planning out how I would play this new account compared to my old one (lot of lessons learned there). Definitely thinking about leveling crafters and gatherers so I can rely on myself for gear as opposed to the market board since I've seen a few of you mention doing the same as a form of soloing and self-reliance. Also going to make myself put the time into doing all the content I can muster (Savage and Extremes might depend on time commitments) for each expansion of the game before moving on as opposed to just rushing through MSQ like I did on my main and only doing the 24mans as my side content of choice. Really milk every last drop of content from the Free Trial.

Feels weird to be excited about coming back on a fresh toon. I suppose its because I really do miss this game (stopped after 6.0 and none of the patch content was grabbing me and Dawntrail's awfulness kept me from buying it or resubbing) and the prospect of seeing all the new changes without the pressure of a sub hanging over my head has made me feel less stressed about playing the game again as I can just play it like a normal game instead of feeling forced to otherwise I wasted my money.

So ended up making a Hrothgar. Not for degeneracy but because I loved a lot of their animations back in Shadowbringers. Ended up going Monk as well since I had never really touched the class at all on my main.

So for someone who hasn't played in like 4 years what the hell am I walking into? I know they added in changes to glamours, trusts, the graphics update and made some Trials into solo duties. Any other shenanigans they've done to leveling or the game in general besides that?

I finally started the second part of DT, happy to be away from trooncat, and what happens? She's still mentioned and simped for in every single conversation. I know I'm beating a dead horse here, but seriously, how could SE think this was a good idea? I can't wait to be done with the main xpac, but since I don’t have much time to play it'll take me ages to get there... urgh.
