IIRC, there was some sort of live letter/interview thing that talked about endwalker plot points where it was confirmed that if Venat never did the sundering, the ancients would've turned out like the people in the third area of the dead ends with Zodiark being an analogue to Ra-la. I wasn't sure what to expect since XIV pvp has always been kinda lackluster, but I kinda love knockoff Overwatch mode. What's everyone else think about it so far?

I disagree with the anti-Venat argument because the game made it a point that Zodiark was a band-aid solution while the big threat is waiting for them to slip. Say what you want but she bought the world time. There was also that plot point in ShB where she did the sundering because she believed the new life forms deserved to live too instead of being sacrifice fodder and everyone debated on who was in the right on that one.

So clearly the next expansion is going to deal with the thirteenth as I had expected, but there is some speculation I've been having:

1. Could the voidsent be a bi-product or a consequence of what happens in Pandaemonium going forward and is it possible that Lahabrea was the one who helped Zodiark weaponize voidsent to destroy the thirteenth?
2. Will we be getting references to the weeping city from Heavensward because from what I can tell in certain cases that questline has been almost inconsequential.
3. The new main villain that keeps going "I am returned" has a bit of familiarity to him that I can't nail down. It's been a while since I've played the weeping city's questline, but something in the back of my mind feels like that guy has some connection to it. However I don't remember where precisely.

Yeah I agree. I wish it was like 10m matches max instead of 5m. Maybe make em feel a little less swingy. It's fun but it feels like one team is always getting totally destroyed lol.

New PVP is really good. I feel like the 5 minute time limit is a really good choice because it disincentivizes teams from throwing quite as easily.

Maybe if this works out and an actual PVP community springs up, we can have longer modes.

I dunno what kind of glorious utopia you live in, but in the ten or so matches I got before work, I had two that had most of my team idling on spawn, and around six that had players staying as far away as possible.

The win reward needs to be tripled, not doubled, from the losing side. Its more efficient to lose three times in the time it takes to try to win one.

The new threat being voidsent is an interesting choice, primarily as it was the last big threat left by the ascians that went unresolved. The writers wasted no time getting around to solving that plot thread.

I would imagine that if the story eventually solves the voidsent issue the writers would be forced to have the plot expand beyond the planet and its reflections

A 13th reflection themed expansion would be cool though, would easily be the edgiest expansion

You underestimate how fast internet coomers are when you give them tools like this. And how fast rule 34 comes out whenever new characters are revealed in a video game (it takes only a hour or so for porn of new Pokemon characters to make rounds on the internet for example.) It’s like internet coomers are trying to speed run who can be the first to make degenerate content.

Haven't kept up with XIV in a long while, have they reverted any of their godawful healer design choices from Shadowbringers? I quit shortly after 5.0 launched after seeing how bad Scholar was after they took away all of its DPS kit except Bio and Broil and killed Selene while having the dumbest fucking idea to take all of your fairy abilities off the pet hotbar. Sorry if this has been answered, I didn't know that the new expac came out recently so I thought I'd ask.
