On the one hand, they're intended to be more weeby gnomes. If they were out and out intended to be sexy lolis, they'd have just added an Elin expy race.

On the other hand, I can't 100% separate them from weird pedo shit because of the lala playerbase.

I feel like this would be less of an issue if lalas looked more 'beastlike' like Tarutarus.

Lalafell are definitely the most likely to deliberately try to draw attention to the fact that they are Lalafell, and that usually comes as either trying to come across as a massive memelord or insisting that their character is a little puff of sugar and joy and thinking they're the cutest things in the world.

They also simp over every single Lalafell character. Had a mate who said Krile was one of the best characters in the game. I mean, she's not bad, but Krile for 90% of the game just exists and occasionally goes "oh Alphinaud, remember that embarrassing moment from your past that you don't want others to know about?".

As someone who plays male Miqo, I'm just glad we're not the defacto coomer race anymore.

I personally don't like throwing around the word pedophile, because to me their is very few labels worse then being an actual pedophile. TaruTarus are actually worse than Lallafell. Their speech patterns are very childlike with cutesy talk and they act far more like children than their XIV counterparts.

The most depressing thing about this game's American community (I have no idea if it's as bad in the EU or JP) is you basically have to come to terms with the fact that the people who play it, regardless of their chosen race or gender, are essentially horny and lonely weeaboos. You just have to accept the fact that the grand majority of the community is either an unhinged lunatic or a thirsty beta male or a lonely femcel or a mentally broken tranny. It's even more depressing when you realize that's essentially the status quo to this game's community. It's basically the norm to fly off your handle over inane bullshit or go cum cannon like a fucking machine gun all over your walls when you see scanty little petite cat girls walking around in maid outfits.

Since I've finished endwalker and queuing for the savage content like Asphodelos is taking some time Im plunging back into the TRUE endgame like Warframe before: Searching high and low for any vaugely interesting piece of gear to make my character look absolutely fabulous. I'm generally fine with lalafell. It's the weirdos that like to pretend like they are children that are wierd and they are the ones who make lalafell look bad for everyone else (and I'm talking about the people who play lalafell). I just think their childish emotes don't do them any justice. If you don't want people to treat them as children or see them as children, maybe give them some variety in emotes that don't all result in them acting like toddlers.

You wouldn't catch me dead playing a lala but let's not pretend that there aren't people out there who play/roleplay as lalafell for the wrong reasons.

Just stay away from Balmung quicksand lalafell, I'll just say that much.

That being said, lalafell are portrayed just fine storywise. It's the players that like to make it wierd imho.

Edit because work is a bitch: What I mean is that generally, as long as lalafell act normal, then I'm fine. Their lalaness doesn't bug me. But when they start asking me for pets and to change their diapers or start up with the baby talk or start pretending to be a kid, that's when I start cringing.
