Final Fantasy XIV - Kiwi Free Company

Anything special about them you feel like sharing?
I don't remember anything too specific because it's been a few years already. I just recall that they were an admin for the Mateus RP hub back then too and I'm surprised they never got given the boot since there was a changing of the guard in play just before I bailed from the server.

I vaguely recall that being owed to some gay ass community drama where apparently a major RP FC on Mateus was caught frequently coercing and blackmailing people into ERP sessions (somehow), they were called out for it, half the people in the Discord were calling for blood and the other half were whiteknighting the FC in question, the admins got suckered into investigating before finally deciding to kick out everyone who was associated with the FC from the server while warning everyone else about them. Except a few weeks later, some admins/mods were demoted and booted, some of the vocal proponents for the FC were promoted, some of the FC members were reinvited back to the Discord, and the new team enforced a policy forbidding people from talking bad about other FCs from then on.

But, again, that's all REALLY vague recollections at this point.

Retard defending shitty advice/suggestions: "Hey could you mind not being so rude, can frame it like-"

Me: "No, fuck you. Stop being dumbasses and clogging up conversation with worthless suggestions during this shitshow, if you don't have anything useful or accurate to say then don't suggest shit, or expect to be told you're an idiot."

I always hate this stupid line of thinking people go with when they're offended for being told they are wrong, because this just opens the flood gates for people to just spout useless crap and not get any sort pushback for it beyond what is effectively a finger wag.

Considering that Foxa runs an FC herself and lets literal sociopaths like this run rampant on her discord it doesn’t surprise me. There was another post this woman made where she bold faced lied about a sexual assault at a car wash and anyone who questioned her Foxa would white knight and say “Guys don’t dismiss sexual assault or tell victims what they should do. It’s not polite mmkay?”

Godspeed, bot spammer guy(s). Keep them busy so Crystal can enjoy fewer dancers giving partner to their uwu softboi internet bf curebot in roulettes.

I used to play on roleplaying servers back on WoW because their playerbase was, at least in the early days, a lot more relaxed about the game. At some point, it changed to making fun of the strange, perpetually-online, run-away-from-reality types drawn to drama like moths to flame, and I've certainly been tempted to see what it would be like to be a fly on the wall with FF14's crop. Of course, that's a lot of energy to expend for the sole purpose of losing even more faith in humanity.

Yep, that sounds about right for the Mateus RP Hub. People would rather raise a fuss over tone policing in text posts than actually address problems.

Meanwhile you can have at least a handful of self-proclaimed lorefags sperging verifiably incorrect conjecture about the lore and worldbuilding of the game's setting because 90% of XIV's playerbase lacks reading comprehension skills, being the rudest possible shits to others who may disagree with or question them, and this is perfectly fine.

I would also call out the gratuitously obscene typefucking that used to go on in the ERP channels along with hambeasts constantly posting "nudes" and "teases" in the other NSFW channels, but, no, it's fine, they moved all of that to a completely different 18+ Discord server at some point because too many self-admitted underageb&'s were checking the channels out regardless of the age lock, surely this is no longer a problem anymore.

I mean I had someone try to explain to me that poaching is legal and cool with the Black Shroud Elementals because "Well Mooncats have existed in Gridania since forever, so clearly they are cool with it and Gridania is just racist for no reason." when I was having a discussion about Gridania's xenophobia and racism (towards Duskwight, before someone brought up moon cats) being born from the Elementals being colossal pricks and easily willing to use scorched earth tier violence when capable of doing so.

So this doesn't shock me because apparently illegal poaching and legal trapping are just the same thing apparently and their is no way one can exist peacefully and one can't. FFXIV lorefags are very good at reading.

Probably because we were late teens early 20's gamers who were either D&D nerds or anime fags who wanted to make bootleg homebrews based off of a game we enjoyed playing casually. All we had to worry about was earning enough to pay for our monthly fees and going to school to earn a major or finishing up high school.

Now when you turn 30 and you realize your egg carton's running dry, your obesity is about to be set in stone, and you realize you don't have many days left on the earth and you're desperately trying to find something, SOMETHING, to maybe get out of your situation like twitch or youtube, you start to realize your poor decisions are starting to pile up. You start to believe you're still living in your teens and you want to be apart of that nerd culture you felt edgy about being apart of when you were on the internet back then. Problem is, those people align with the hip LGBT craze and they'll gaslight you into thinking you're... whatever sexual habit you have and there you go! You're apart of the nerd crew now!

Basically, they never grew up and now the consequences are starting to catch up and now they're looking for "escape" through a second life where they can look attractive without putting in the work. There was one picture in this thread of that one forum poster having a mental breakdown because people were just bitching about NSFW ads in PF. She was also playing a 8/10 looking miqo'te which is even funnier.

Also @Rubedo you fucking faggot, just talk about your shit here in the thread instead of DM'ing me and probably others with thread-adjacent material.

It isn't off-topic to talk about XIV things in the XIV thread. There's no guarantee that we won't make fun of you anyway for it, though.

Sorry, just used to being secretive about sensitive shit that I mostly keep it on PMs for too long. That's how I got snitched out to SonicSol over some private conversation with Ransom when I was trying to figure out Sol's mental state. Specially on advise on posting certains.

Should have attached the names on there, but for starters... here's the white knight PLD:

Also gotta ask since I'm curious, what's the situation with Famfrit? I know they've exported all their hardcores over, but how barren/infested is that server anyway?

Here's my rule of thumb - if I try to give constructive feedback in a DF group and someone spergs out, I just leave. I have like a hundred other things I could be doing in the open world while sitting in time out. It's not worth giving speds and troons the satisfaction.

Pretty sure that's my mindset now is just leave and leave a little feedback. But back in that instance, I was in that mentality of "my whole party's new, gotta carry them" with "So I'm MT now? No one mentions they want the job even after the first boss? Ok, might as well". Plus I set on leveling up GNB, but that run changed that as well.

Saw some pretty funny sperg out in all chat on Tonberry over S-Rank pull timers the other day.

Led to some great quotes such as "the highers of Tonberry" and good hunters leaving the linkshells I am in. :(

One more week until I am free of this hell server.
The early pulling is out of control lately. On Diabolos, we've defaulted to just sitting around and waiting for the early puller to die before swooping in and doing it normal. Been somewhat effective.

Also I think one or two people have been run out of the DC because their reputation from hunts was so bad that they're instantly kicked from PF groups now.

Coeurl had someone exactly like that before cross-server travel became a thing. Dude was a notorious early puller and could easily make the entire server seethe any time he showed up.

I think his name was Shreddy Spaghetti? Seems like he still plays, albeit over on Gilgamesh now.

It was an argument about the timer not being long enough (it was a 12 minute pull timer) - personally that is far too long for me and an EP is to be expected if you set it that long, I know congestion is a bitch and I have missed out on many S ranks because I can't get into the instance but I don't expect 300 people to sit still and not touch something for 12 minutes.

I do laugh every time there is a EP though and people just go mental in the chat. It is a problem on Tonberry too, but it is what it is, next hunt is gonna come boys, calm down a bit.

12 minutes is fine. I'm talking about people who specifically pull the second a scout calls out the mark.

Speaking of Crystal DC hunt intrigue, I'm pretty sure the Happy Hunt Train has been cucked out of Diabolos because the local hunt community conveniently seems to hold a search and destroy around the same times the Happy Hunt people tend to be active.

Pretty sure that's my mindset now is just leave and leave a little feedback.
I mean, depending on how you word the feedback, it can still be grounds for people to file complaints. That shouldn't really matter if you aren't breaking the ToS, but it still puts you in a position where one of the GMs having a bad day can translate into you being inconvenienced. The ToS are also not really up to legal snuff, in that much is open to interpretation.

The reality is, if it's a lowbie dungeon with sprouts, giving some basic pointers isn't usually the worst thing in the world and goes over well enough. For me, the dropoff point is around Stone Vigil - but even being generous, so soon as you leave ARR, shitters think they 'know' the game like the back of their hand. And you can (and will) get carried far - YPYT single-pullers with egos almost as large as the time it takes them to complete a dungeon, curebots who have twitch-shooter reaction times for their level-2 heal skill the instant a tank reaches 98%, and enpi mage & the blizzard wizzards are all present at level 90 content.

Of those types, the only one you can kick without fear of reprisal is the YPYT, but people are such cowardly bootsuckers en masse in this game that you could basically talk about the need for lebensraum and conclusive solutions if you're a tank and they'd meekly agree with you - fat chance of getting randoms to boot the guy who refuses to do the 1-2 aoe combo because you bruised their self-image. The other examples are all ToS kosher and an abuse of the votekick - even the dancer giving partner to the healer. There is nothing that you can say or suggest that will ever make these people better - this isn't a BLM that didn't realize fire ii now gives flare a buff when you cast it twice; these are people willfully choosing to play the way they do. Dropping the group is safe, saves your sanity, and (generally) saves your time.
Basically, they never grew up and now the consequences are starting to catch up and now they're looking for "escape" through a second life where they can look attractive without putting in the work.
They were always around on those older servers, and there was always a higher population of sexual minorities owing to the milder climate as well. But something definitely changed in the 2010s that dramatically shifted the ratio of chill:shrill. Maybe it was the explosion of social media and twitter; it's a headscratcher to me. And it's almost too easy to get those types to have breakdowns, though it never quite stops being fun.

In the old days, the younger players wouldn't join in or just tell everyone to chill out when sperging happened. For some reason, zoomers take literally every opportunity to inflame public drama (especially when social issues come up) which only emboldens the shrill crowd regardless of age.

there are also riding maps that improve your speed in zones, but I honestly forget where to buy them and what to buy them with. there might be multiple different ways to do so, though flight speed is in itself faster. TBH with how little money you can make from gathering thanks to bots, you really don't need to return to the zones that often unless you're doing hunts or grinding fates for whatever reason

fantasia isn't going to buy itself , nor are level skips for alts

speaking of level skips, if you boost a black lives matter and proceed to do less damage than the healer, you are not worth the mp to pick up off the floor
Exactly how to get riding maps changes bit by bit.

In arr, this costs Allied Seals. You can get these by doing ARR hunts, and Blue Mage Carnivale.

In HW/SB, this costs Clan Centurio seals. Seals and their equivalents come from the hunts system, which basically is a combination of beating up groups of minor enemies like a shopping list and taking on some of the solo and group world bosses. If you heard people talking about A ranks and S ranks, that's hunt stuff.

In ShB/EW, this is from bicolor gemstones, which are awarded from fates in the expacs in question, and require you to do fates in the specific zone as well. Just doing the requisite amount of fates to unlock the riding maps will give you enough for the zone's map and some change, which is nice, and you can further grind the system to unlock some zone-themed furniture items.

These currencies are either base game or only seem to change every second expac, which is handy.
