Final Fantasy XIV - Kiwi Free Company

I think Rich could stall his own death if he tried hard enough.

Maybe Rich is actually a genius and knows he can stretch out content for literal years using his stall tactics, high energy powers, and garner enough money from his fellowship for the rest of his lifetime. His fellowship who have sunk cost fallacy of watching a guy do 2 quests a stream through the entirety of FFXIV MSQ, so they have to see the ending else all those months were worthless.

This man is a stalling archmagus, and marketing people wish they could figure out how to use his esoteric knowledge to make the same money for doing less.

:optimistic:

The nu-streamers I like for FFXIV:

1) AnnieFuchsia - she's definitely a weirdo gypsy thot, but at least she does stuff other than push MSQ and raid. She'll have plenty of streaming content considering she wants to cheevo hunt. My only complaint is that she can be a little snippy sometimes.

2) Preach - norf fc is just playing FFXIV like any other major RPG and not being a faggot about it. No delusions about being in for the long haul, just enjoying the content as it comes and doing it when he feels like it.

3) Pyromancer - annoying theorycrafting and sperging aside, he's usually chill enough. I hope he continues to move out of his bubble and play other stuff because there's tons of non-MMO franchises he'd probably really enjoy sperging about.

4) FraggoWoW - This guy's just cool in general. WoW raider in XIV without the faggotry. The Finns truly are a superior race.
Preach is pretty decent. Always comes off as some norf guy just playing a game and giving his opinions. Pyromancer as much as I've made fun of him seems like a decent guy even if he tends to sperg out every once in a while and needs to stop taking notes. I'm hoping he does other stuff because him doing Elder Scrolls seems like some really fun lore meltdowns
Captain Grim and Jesse Cox seem nice, but I haven't watched much of either of them. Haven't seen Jesse at all really since the Co-Optional days. It shouldn't be this hard to find something to listen to during PoTD runs.
Jesse Cox is another lore guy and doesn't have Pyromancer's bad habit of taking ten tons of notes during cutscenes, opting instead to, you know, just remember what happens in the story. Though, I've wondered if he's spoiled himself since I'm not sure (unless I'm just a big lore dummy) that Fandaniel's first EW scene could have revealed that his last incarnation was Amon.

I'm seeing if I just want to pug this savage tier. Players are flaky and many of the groups I talk to have the same problem. They recruit players that monkey branch to another group a week later, or that suddenly can't raid anymore.

No wonder people get mad at Rich Campbell for clearing when just getting a group together is a pain in the ass, and then you have to prog without the benefit of having 7 other people who know the fight perfectly.

Asmon's funny when you buy into the character, but the dude's went from pulling 100k/day streaming FF14 to 10k streaming New World, a mmo released into the typical death spiral, and World of Warcraft which is basically cope incarnate at this point.
I'll say in Asmon's defense, his mom recently died and he, by his own admission, doesn't want to stream on the Asmongold channel as he doesn't have the energy or drive to put out the regular streaming content he feels the channel deserves/requires, so he chill streams on his side channel. And he doesn't want to progress the game, as he promised it will be main channel content.

On the same vein as Fraggo, check out Scripe or Rogerbrown. Two other guys from Echo. Both of them are the big brain strat guys for their guild. The most notable example being Scripe figuring out a (reportedly) completely new technique for handling the lions in E12S.
Also, watch Pint.

I've watched JesseCox for a number of years. He's just that big brained sometimes. He made that call on Amon before the expansion dropped IIRC. He also started playing the game in earnest just before/as 5.3 dropped, and after the Crystal Tower and Coils raids and the Nabriales fight he called that the Crystal Tower would be used as a giant ghost trap for SOME Ascian. See the vid below for the Post-Seat of Sacrifice cutscene cut with his prediction from months before.

Hit level 50 tonight in MNK, MIN, and BTN. I just finished up the Stone Vigil quest in ARR.

Seems like a lot of the game is opening up (new job quest lines, beast tribe quests, Grand Company stuff, housing, etc.). Is there any point in fucking with any of that right now or should I just be laser focused on the MSQ?

There's the blue quest which usually open dungeons/raids and if you get tired of just doing msq and need a change. The arr alliance raid story at least should be done because some if it comes back in msq.

At the very least do the Job quests since some abilities up to level 70 are quest locked.

Since beast tribe quests are timegated with daily allowances I'd say it's worth it to start on those if you think you'd be interested in the mounts and merchants that sell certain crafting materials and dyes. As a sidenote, as I've been doing them myself I've noticed that they definitely improved on beast tribe quests in later expansions especially with the exp rewards for crafter quests.

When you hit the capstone of the quest chain in each expac (i.e. beat the quest named after the expansion) there'll be multiple quest chains unlocked. Most important are the normal raids (8 man raids mostly consisting of 1-on-1 battles in sets of 4), the alliance raids (24 man raids as a big mob of idiots), and for heavensward-on, the Trial trio (a series of three cool trial fights revolving around a theme, with some of the best music and extra birds/doggos/dragons to ride).
I'd recommend doing those as you go, finishing them before you finish the MSQ. So far, one of those has been made mandatory (the ARR alliance raid) and the others significantly enhance the story of future expacs if you do them when appropriate. I'd quite reasonably expect the Stormblood Normal raid to become mandatory later, too.

Exception timing-wise is ARR's normal raid, coils of Bahamut. I recommend postponing that until you've cleared Shadowbringers and doing it undersized with a buddy.

Also as many of the side 4 man dungeons you can squeeze in. Many of them will come back later or tie in with later quest lines/class quest lines.

As for what you can do now...

- If you haven't done them yet, now's a great time to do your Grand Company Logs. You can go to one of the grand company staff (I think it's the quartermaster?) and turn dungeon loot in you don't need for extra credits to rank up quicker. What you want is squadron - and then Command - missions, which can be a huge boon while you're levelling a DPS class.

- Beast tribe quests have a nice reward for doing all of them for an expac, and you can get a themed mount from each one you clear - the Kobolds have a palanquin carried by Bombs, for example - but they dont give a lot of exp in the ARR cases. Do them for mount grinding. The HUGE exception is the Ixal, who gives great exp for crafters right from level 1.

- The Gold saucer is always there for you.

- Housing, well, it's hard to grind the necessary money unless you have a crafting class levelled near-max.

- The jobs which start at 50-onwards generally feel complete right out the gate, which is nice. Good for trying out alternate playstyles.

As someone who made a fresh ARR alt recently, the game outright tells you to do Crystal Tower after 2.1's MSQ AND it will force you to do it before you can go to the big cutscene marathon just before Heavensward starts.

You can't miss or avoid Crystal Tower raids even if you tried or wanted to, the game will force you to do it and you will like it.

Pint looks like he going to troon out.
Classic AGP case. Saw his video where he talks about starting to crossdress, liking crossdressing just because it makes you feel good is a classic case of someone with a crossdressing fetish, but this is current year, so I'm sure the terminally online are already pressuring him to chug estrogen and go slice of his penis

How do they force you to do it? I imagined that it could have made sense if you could ignore it until you reach ShB so that way it looks like the voice was telling you to do Crystal Tower and you can finally segue to ShB once you complete it.

2.55's quests won't start until you finish Crystal Tower, the last CT quest is now a requirement to finish ARR basically. The game also says when it prompts you to do CT that you can't complete ARR until you finish CT.

So no, it doesn't let you wait till Shadowbringers is around the corner, you have to do it before ARR ends now. Why they don't just change CT's quest marker to the MSQ symbol is beyond me, but that is what we have now.

Bummer, my idea is more immersive.

Cleared Castrum Lacus Latore with 9 people yesterday.

I like the fights, but man, what a miserable experience. Fun fact, Lyon forces a party of 8 to him, so one person is left fighting Dawon, lol.
The Bozja raids do have some pretty neat mechanics but I wished joining wasn't such a pain. I don't know how but I managed to do CLL with 5 people.

I have seen this story play out so many times. I'm not sure what it is with making video game videos, playing a female character, being socially awkward and trooning out.

Maybe I should have seen it coming all along with the twintails pink gnome.

Perhaps one day we'll have a roulette for the Bozja and Eureka instances so that it won't be dependent on enough people being in the questing area, it's not too bad now, but as more expansions drop the player base will be more and more stretched out, and it would be unfortunate to see them gone entirely

Sometimes makes me uncomfortable with playing a female character for the aesthetic as I might get lumped in with the deranged, but I guess it's fine since I don't go for small and cute and don't entertain that AGP fetish bullshit
