Final Fantasy XIV - Kiwi Free Company

They deserve it for how much the WoW players have been shitting up nearly every other major MMO thread on that board for years. I read it everyday soaking in the schadenfreude.
WoW players have been doing this for as long as WoW has been a thing. A major reason behind EQ2's poor early uptake despite being a sequel to the most popular MMO on the market (at the time) was literal WoWnigger astroturfing of all the forums, because the WoW designers decided to pander to EQ raidtrannies explicitly.

And you can even see them still trying to organize brigades in places like MMOC and r/wowcirclejerk. Quite literally reaping the whirlwind.

Anyway, the house I'm living in has one working electrical circuit so I'm hoping I can get another couple wired up today so I can actually hook up my PC and play during early access. Definitely going straight to MSQ as Paladin because I'm a basic bitch and tanking makes me feel important.

(Don't bother for the majority with other roulettes, EXP yield is shit and Main Scenario roulette is an alt-tabbing/AFK snorefest)
Bruh u smoking something

Trials and Normal Raids are quick queue even as dps and battle times are pretty fast if you get 99% of trials or NRs, (barring Soul of the creator (?) the alexander final boss or Titania

MSQ is boring as fuck but even at 70+ the mobs give enough for a good chunk of the level bar and the bonus is pretty good, also, you can Queue for frontline if you have enough time to kill and can stomach the pvp, that also gives you a chunky bonus AND you can freely change to other jobs within it, but the job that queues for it gets the daily XP

That said, there's a small bonus that comes if you level one job first, then only level the rest. I think it was something like a 50% increase in battle xp which is quite minuscule imo, but still. (There are other reasons to do so, because you need the levels to unlock some of the other alternative ways to gain XP, that being Palace of the Dead, which requires you to complete MSQ iirc, and the SB version, which is Heaven-on-High. Both also serve as a good place to practice rotation because your levels there are separate from your actual level, meaning you can get a sneak peek on your job rotation without needing to put in the grind. Bozja is ShB equivalent, but you're simply locked to 80 there instead, giving you the full scope of the class right off the bat.)

PotD becomes available through a breadcrumb quest in the middle of ARR content. I wanna say like maybe level 20 or so? It was pretty early on. and I think you're referring to the Armory Bonus, which is a 100% XP bonus for any combat role that is a lower level than your highest, reduced to 50% post 70 (I imagine this will be changing with Endwalker.)

Eh, I'm looking more for information on rotations and getting more effective in certain jobs. Playing a healer for the first time in an MMO ever and I feel I could be doing much better. I've gotten all jobs to level 30+ aside from Thaum and Arcanist. But thanks!
Oh, that kind of job guide stuff. Well, regarding healer, guessing you went with Conjurer/White Mage? I have a feeling that's usually most people's first entry pick into playing a healer in this game, and certainly was for me, but for general tips on healer:

- If you play on PC with mouse/keyboard make a habit of at least in standard light parties pressing F1 through F4 which is the keybind by default to select yourself/your teammates in a bind, and it's usually F2 you'll be pressing to heal the tank.
- If you gain aggro from stray enemies, run towards the tank so he can pick it up more easily rather than having him chase after you.
- Pop Lucid Dreaming whenever your MP starts getting around the 70%-60% range to keep healing up especially in prolonged fights.

Hope that gives some more confidence.
Also yeah @Sunflower Samurai and @Gravemind I'm incorrect about those, it is worth doing it, but levelling roulette is usually the biggest EXP gain one in the shortest amount of time, though Frontline roulette might also rival it. Though will add that the EXP you gain in MS roulette is smaller if you end up in Castrum Meridianum instead of Praetorium, and I believe EXP from FL roulette match is increased somewhat if you actually win the match too.

6.0 will extend the bonus to 70-80.
Official job guides are updated now too.

a bunch of people were already piled up at the reaper NPC's location, all on DRG and all already dressed up in their edgemaxxed glams, so I rolled up looking like a cross between Space Dandy and a high school anime bad guy and got about two paragraphs into the John Galt cuntpaste before the servers shut down

the price of lost actions may dramatically drop as everyone tries to unload them (before they become more niche and valuable), so it'll probably be fairly easy to stock up on the ones you need for the duels. Honestly, most of the CEs are easy enough to solo with beast, watcher, or ordained on DPS classes, and the main sticking point with castrum or dalriada are the mandatory numbers of players you'll need for parts that split. But with reduced numbers of bozja instances, idk, maybe people will be more together

I don't really plan on wading into the mess of people desperately scrambling to exhaust a few month's worth of content over the course of a few days, so I'll probably be there, a gnb to shepherd the useless freestylers and curebot sages alike. good thing bloodsucker and some damage actions will allow you to again mostly solo the encounters

Bozja will likely be more empty for most of December as people finish up Endwalker, but return once they're done with the main quest and need to level more characters to max. Bozja won't start dying off until 6.1 or 6.2

I saw this today and decided to check out the official tank forums

I wish i could post more images of the official forum right now but im a filthy phoneposter rn so i cant do much

The dark knight thread is ripe with copium, autism and arguing though

To an extent some of the additions and changes are pretty puzzling, but these niggas act like SE shot their dog

My condolences, but there's multiple reasons why I avoid the forums. One stint of autism was bad enough.

Although I need to edit this post for this, although of course they nerf Monk a bit... but bringing back Steel Peak and Howling Fist even if they're low level Meditation moves... pinch me if I'm dreaming.

The Abyssal Drain and Carve and Spit thing doesn't mean much of anything, Drk has arguably way too many double weaves to begin with (You want to do 7 double weaves WITHOUT a potion used in your opener and 6 in your 2 minute window? On a tank? Me neither.) and Abyssal Drain barely does any damage. I have no idea why THIS is somehow breaking Drk when Drk overall has more off gcds to weave in EW then in ShB. Drk if anything needs something to do beyond its infamously busy 2 minute window, not more shit to throw into the 2 minute window.

I miss Dark Passenger for this purpose because it was an efficient mana spender on a CD, so you always wanted enough mana to ensure it was used on CD and it is a 30 second CD which is something Drk sort of lacks besides Plunge. If Abyssal Drain actually restores mp based on how many targets it hits (which might be true as Flood of Shadow got a much heavier potency nerf then most abilities) then this is a buff and not a nerf overall. Which makes this tantrum even worse.

Dark Knights are being absolute autistic crybabies now (more then usual), and I'm going to laugh if it is a "meta" (as much of meta that exists in FFXIV) tank anyway despite all this bitching just because it has a very powerful 2 minute burst window due to Shadowbringer's having two charges on a 60 second CD. People thought Gunbreaker was going to be dogshit too until the first savage tier happened.

Sia doing a version of Fly Me To The Moon as a launch collab for the expansion pack is further proof that I'm living in a simulation where I'm the protagonist of a reality where stuff only I could possibly enjoy happens.

Twitter trannies and autists are predictably outraged by it because "their" mmo is now vaguely associated with a celebrity who didn't bow and scrape when they turned on her over her frankly tone-deaf retard movie.

Couldnt agree more, the life drain and potency of abyssal was beyond useless in single target in the grand scheme of things, getting 1 less button and the potency added to carve is a nice-r middleground, the MP drain to it is also pretty dang cool for yeet pulls too

More reason to stick to PLD/GNB at this point, I guess. ( EDIT: ) Sounds like it's a good time to go back to WAR as well.

EDIT: Even if it's from those autists and Xeno (fuck him too btw), this sums it up;

This is late, I know, but I forgot Kiwis have the superior discussion about this game until maintence day. I played on Malboro/Goblin for a long time, I'm a sperg with two characters with multiple jobs max leveled across both. Decided to transfer one to Primal to play with some irl friends. Oh my, what a trash fire that DC is. On Crystal, I experienced some frustrating but mostly fine runs. Part of the fun is the idiots characters you meet, right? But it's usually the odd man out that doesn't know what to do. Primal seems to be the destination for the majority of the WoW refugees and they are spreading their fucking cancer. I have never seen so many mechanics in old content or come back from a dc that took less than a minute to re-login to to be party kicked at the last boss, nor have I ever ever experienced a DF group vote abandon after one wipe until now. I hate it. My irl friends can suck a dick, I'm going back to Goblin.

Nothing important to add, just want to state how much I love seeing the gender brigade seethe any time someone refers to one of the pixies as he or she. Seeing chat flood with "THEY" as they get completely riled up is always a good laugh.
I got a half hour lecture about being a good person from my sister's fiance at thanksgiving dinner for refering to the pixies as "she". That faggot is not joining the family.
