any time I see a video with a cancerous thumbnail like this my brain automatically filters it from my vision. FFXIV youtube content has never been great but post-assmon it's gone from shit like Larryzaur's awful but ultimately anodyne meme videos to pages on pages of WORLD OF WARCRAFT 14 YEAR VETERAN REACTS TO ENDWALKER TRAILER!!!!!!!!!!! with a thumbnail of some greasy ass neckbeard soy facing next to a bunch of clip art. I'm always happy for the game to be doing well, it makes Yoshida happy, and more players means more money means better content, but I also wish the bandwagoners and Gamer Twitch/YouTube Content Creator Influencer faggots would find another cock to hop on already

My favorite thing noticing this now is after looking him up in the tranny site known as fflogs, he hasn't cleared any of the ultimates but he has a photo of himself in the thumbnail with the sch book from ucob. Man complaining about "positivity" when everything he produces is a sham. As for speaking about YouTube, people like Xenosys and other cows have started milking the REACT TO X or Y shit.

Wait seriously?
That's hilarious. If he used CMTool to take screenshots with ult weapons, but hasn't even cleared? That's like the most pathetic thing I've ever heard of, even for thumbnail material.

Nah it'd be better if he bought the clear and his log is just not posted because it was a carry/pilot run. Paypal legends are the best.

That would be funnier. I didn't even consider that.
Either way though, it's pretty pathetic.
There was some poor soul in my linkshell that didn't pay attention and turned his ult weapon in for company seals so I used CMTool to make a screenshot of my character with the weapon he traded in and said I got it from the grand company. It was pretty funny
Lol that's so mean. I love it.
I put all mine into my dresser as soon as I get them to prevent that. I'm kinda airheaded in general, especially when it comes to inventory management. So I could see myself doing something that stupid.

Every week or so you got western players complaining there's no appear offline mode to hide from their "friends"

I can imagine a couple of scenarios where you would want to hide from people, and none of them healthy

I honestly think it's a problem that a lot of modern online culture promotes not facing uncomfortable situations

If you have a annoying friend who doesn't let you play in peace or a desperate would be lover who hounds you 24/7 when online it's better to face such things head on rather than the theatrics of appearing invisible to your problems

Decided to just join the next Free Company that would invite me and didn't look too annoying from the outside, mainly for buffs and stuff.

Get invited by polite recruiter.
No obvious RP/LGBT+ warning flags.
Accept and join.
The entire FC chat is people discussing the ages of fictional characters (including referencing other countries' age of consent laws) to justify wanting to fuck them.
Leave FC.

Why must people be like this.

Because people can't differentiate between fiction and reality, and I mean that in every possible application of the statement.

I finally mustered up the courage to finish the Bozjan storyline.

I'm not sure what I expected, but it sure wasn't the Lyon/Menesius bromance at the end.

How was the Bozjan frontline received when it came out anyway? I just know it was better than the normal daily areas MMOs tend to release
When it first came out in 5.1? Pretty well. It wasn't called a "better Eureka" for no reason. And the fact that it continued the Ivalice quest lines (and its shameless mining in the nostalgia well that was FFXII and FFT) was an additional factor in its praise, as well as the exploration of a new area that was pretty tangentially important to the MSQ, even if technically optional.

At the end of the day, Bozja at least got me to finish up the story quests within. I quit Eureka within the first hour and you couldn't pay me enough to stay there even today.

Yeah, going from bozja to eureka is rather painful. The areas are huge and a slog to trek through with less stuff going on and story objectives are surrounded by enemies that will be way higher level than you when you unlock them. The only thing I can think of right now that I prefer from eureka is that you don't lose special exp from dying, only from returning. I guess eureka also has people who are more willing to wait around for other people to reach a fate, though if you think about it in bozja that isn't even necessary considering how the overworld fates are less important than critical engagements that are joinable from wherever.

I've noticed this guy likes to deceptively hide things or obscure certain details that would help his case like this video for example. He said at least three times he received notice about why he was kicked from his raid but he never shows it and the first time I was thinking maybe it was a falling out and the raid group didn't think he was a good fit or they just didn't like him personally. Usually that's how it goes with people like him who are inconsequentially quiet and don't really do anything when they're confronted or in stressful situations and usually in these situations they just move on and go their separate ways. But then he mentioned he was kicked from linkshells, raid discords, and facebook chats and it leads me to believe there's way more to this story he's not telling me because it wasn't just this group that wanted him gone, they had an agenda to see this guy removed from every place that involved raiding. Either his raid static were a bunch of turbo autists who thought he was so bad he needed to be scorned for life, or he did something to them that lead to a large group of people to disassociate with him. He also hasn't gotten any tells to run Ultimate Alexander anymore nor has he made any mention of raids inviting him personally. I'm very suspicious he's not telling the whole truth.
I know this dude. There are entire valleys of these losers trying to get clout off being "community pillars". Dude's not subtle at all about what he wants to do and you can always catch him trying to squeeze into every bit of public attention.

The rest of us are just trying to play the game. Some of us have jobs IRL and we don't delude ourselves into thinking this is more than a video game.

This culture makes it difficult to organize because people just don't bother. Many friends who raid in their own groups have had to deal with people who say they'll raid with you. But then overnight leave their static discord without saying anything. They don't even bother telling you that they're leaving.

Me and a few people I've known since heavensward made a small free company/discord and we stay away from this sort of stuff.

some of you may, like me, have had the hope that with the advent of the new expansion coming quickly a good deal of veterans would be right back in the loop there with the dreck that has populated the duty finder for the last six months. you know, to shake off the rust and dust and get a feel for things again

this is a fool's hope and i can confirm that crystal's duty finder is nothing but black mages that spam freeze on single target and singe (remember that ability?) on aoe alongside red mages that fucking love hardcasting

Crystal is the literal RP data center the fuck you expect

Hey, don't lie. There's plenty of Samurai that don't chain their skills properly and Machinists who don't know how to set up for Wildfire.

I don't think the age-old cancer of balmung is so much the problem as is crystal being the new player dumping ground since the other spots filled up

Plenty of mildly competent people exist on the dc owing to the fact that one might want to play with one's actual friends, and mildly competent people do not use freeze on single target enemies. it is those mildly competent people who are still staying away

moon skill looks cool, and if you look cool then you must be doing good.

apparently 'should i use holy?' is also a really hard question people are grappling with these days, right up there with 'should i turn my stance on?' the things you hear about once you check that 'join in-progress parties' option

As I've repeatedly attested, it isn't just Balmung that drags the data center's overall competency down (although it's a stereotype for a good reason that any time you have a supreme shitter in your party, chances will be high they'll come from Balmung). Mateus also drags things down, possibly thanks to it being Balmung's load-shedding grounds since Stormblood, and Coeurl has historically always had shit players.

My experience is its Mateus ('cause you're gonna get way more of 'em) or Brynhildr. I have no idea why Bryn seems to do that for me but gods save us all do I meet some shitters from it. Though none of that is a surprise, if you've played MMOs long enough you're aware that unless you personally pick all of your players there's going to be at the least two paste eaters.
