It wouldn't surprise me one bit if these people hate Bozja for that reason after their story ended with their reasoning being "The garleans are bad, you are bad for mimicking them they are a fascist paramilitary organization that is objectively evil" even though the whole theme of that story was coming to understand your enemies and learning from your past failures to grow even stronger.
That's nothing compared to how those types see Sorrow of Werlyt, because how dare we let an antagonist actually develop and learn anything from their mistakes?
FFXIV has a very general theme against extremes, as every extremist character is dead or in sight to be killed if they don't shape up. You can have the worst sob story ever (Yotsuyu) and still die because you let your emotions get the best of you and compel you to take the most extreme answer you can find. It is through overcoming your plights, being aware of yourself, and taking in your experiences that make you stronger. That's why the WoL is so strong, while their heroic stoicism is obviously just a narrative limitation of them being a PC, the writers use that to convey that for all the WoL feels, for how much shit they go through, and how much ptsd, survivor's guilt, and who knows what else they can still be the hero. In fact because they can go through all of this and still hold strong, is precisely
why they're the hero. That's why just about everyone gets a chance at redemption or to rethink their actions in this story, even if they basically tell you to go fuck yourself later.
So this extremist "bash the fash"/"punch a nazi" types don't actually get that by FFXIV's themes, they'd be on the chopping block eventually because they let their emotions control them to think in only extremes.
It is why Redditor Alphinaud royally screws up literally everything in ARR and he has to get his head out of his ass if he wants to truly help people.
It is why Alisaie's emotionally driven tantrums and inability to work with people at the start has to be overcome through acceptance of her reality in Coil.
It is why Thancred has to learn to let go of his problems, as him holding onto them is negatively affecting everyone around him and himself.
It is why Urianger has to learn to see past his loss when he loses someone important and remember that he still has things to do here.
It is why Y'shtola...uh...okay she has kind of nothing going on really, she's 2cool4school best waifu pls step on my little sun uwu. But 4/5 is a good ratio okay?
The entire story is basically telling everyone "I understand you plight, I feel for you, and I wish you well, but you must move on" and those that don't are doomed to fail.
