Just finish leveling everything to 80 before EW comes out and cheese your ilvl so you never get the Shadowbringers dungeons in roulettes while leveling 80-90.

I think a lot of people underestimate how much gil sprouts spend on stupid shit. The amount of them that I've run into that think 100k gil is a lot of money is quite surprising and apparently many of them just dump their gil into glamour and leveling gear and other dumb shit pretty regularly.

Also what are your static requirements if I may ask? I don't normally put much weight on parses or even savage clears myself, but someone who hasn't even done an extreme while it's current is normally a non-starter in my book.
I want players to have savage experience and to not parse gray. There are a lot of people coming from wow with 0 experience in 14 who applied anyway. You get flooded with people that don't read your static recruitment posts too.
No prepatch phase. Sometime in early November we'll be informed about the pre-launch maintenance period. The servers will be taken down for between 24 and 48 hours before the game enters early access on the 19th (expect it to be closer to 48 hours with how bad server problems have been lately). Once the servers are back up, we'll be in 6.0 with all the system changes but only people who have preordered will be able to start Endwalker's MSQ. On November 23rd, the early access period will end and you'll be able to start the MSQ without needing to have preordered.

A few more possible happenings during the launch:
1) Expect sudden, unannounced emergency maintenance windows for hotfixes.
2) Expect there to be normal maintenance (5-6 hours) on the 23rd when Endwalker leaves early access.
3) Expect servers to be congested.
4) Expect DDoS attacks. NA and EU got slammed by DDoS during the first two weeks of Shadowbringers by fanatics from another MMO and I don't think it'll be different this time around.
5) Expect the 70-80 dungeons to be unplayable as every shitter decides to unlock sage and play it despite never playing a healer before.
6) Expect catboys to become extinct.
Expect DDoSing for sure. I'm not sure how well Sage will do though.

I can tell you exactly how "well" most levelling Sages will do:

They won't.

I guaran-fucking-tee you all the DPS kiddies who barely manage to tap their keybinds in a sequential order somewhat resembling a rotation will flock to the new healer class because NEW and IT'S LIKE A GUNDAM. And then they will proceed to try and play Sage strictly like a DPS. And they will get upset when parties keep wiping or they get told to actually heal people, because "BUT THAT'S LESS DPS".

I personally saw it happen with Dark Knight when that was first released. I still see people who have never before touched a Tank role pick up Gunbreaker and try to play it like a DPS, too.

I'd say it's safe to assume both the glamour dresser size, and the amount of plates will increase, wether it be on launch of 6.0 or beyond. They did it with SHB when it came out, wouldn't be shocked to see it happen shortly after, especially with two new jobs added into the mix.

People who do really put those words in Yoshi-P's mouth are a little up there though. He does say some things because legally he can't with NDAs and crap, but to be damn that sure there's instanced housing, let alone at a time where the housing in game is still an absolute shitshow. That's def gonna blow back in people's faces.
Question is how much larger will they make it? From what they've said before there are resource limitations that are keeping the dresser at its current size.

With the amount of jobs and gear available tve dresser could easily be three times as large and still require choices. Going from 400 to 450 isn't gonna cut it

People said that about Gunbreaker, and over the expansion, tank was still one of the most in-demand roles for queues.

eh?
I think you're confusing the thing about player queues being thrown out of whack (which tends to be true for the start of an expac, before things settle back to their usual), with what he's saying (the first few days/weeks will have lots of really shitty sages who don't know what they're doing).

Jenova is a shithole, come hang out on Zalera, we have low prices, a chill community, and Balmung e-thots shitting up the bottom three pages of party finder with their stupid ass ERP clubs

I just found this thread and it's good to see that in the sea of trannies in this game, there's some normal folks too. Anyone on Jenova?
You're playing on the raidtranny DC, so of course there's mostly trannies

I hear sargatanas is pretty chill among the worlds on aether though

Jokes aside, I think FFXIV actually has a pretty normie playerbase compared to most MMOs.

Aside from the odd tranny FC here and there, which seems to be everywhere now, Cactuar's also pretty chill, especially now that the streamertide's started settling down.

Faerie's the gathering place for the troons and LGBTQs though.

yeah, you've got the ever-present Troon Factor and they're obnoxiously visible, but honestly I'd say, in the ~9 years I've spent playing this game, around 90% of my experiences with other people have been chill, normal, and pleasant. but it's the 10% that always stick in your memory

by comparison, last time I went back to WoW for a lark (mid-Legion), I did not find a single dungeon group where people were affable and friendly like in FFXIV. not a single one, in the entire month I spent playing. every group I joined had this air of barely-tolerant silence until it exploded into people screaming insults at each other because, like, somebody was doing suboptimal DPS or something? it got even worse when I started doing heroic dungeons, it's like nobody is actually having any fun playing that game, I don't remember it being like that before I switched over to FFXIV circa MoP but maybe I've just forgotten how bad WoW is

I still envy people like you who only ever mostly have amiable experiences with randos.

Most people I've met use friendliness to act like a passive aggressive cunt. Or they act nice up front but talk shit behind everyone's backs. And that's amid maybe the couple of people who have the stones to pitch a shitfit at the party for not playing EXACTLY perfectly.

I quit retail for good with BFA and your experience isn't just you. I have not had a single enjoyable random dungeon run since WOTLK (2nd expansion). FFXIV isn't perfect but WoW has one of the most rotten playerbases ever. There's no joy at all. People still playing now are the most loyal of shills (those who aren't just copying Asmon and moving to FF) or those that will never ever quit.

I spend most of my time in pubbie content (leveling dungeons, expert dungeons, 24 mans, normal raids, Eureka/Bozja), I do extreme content when it's new but it doesn't take long to run out of reasons to keep doing it, I haven't done any savage content since Ghost Train

most of the time if you just start cracking jokes and acting like a complete goon ass you can get most of the group laughing and joking along with you

one time while I was waiting for a Lacus Litore pop I got a bunch of people in Bozja to sing the He-Man HEEEEEYEYYEYYEYUH meme song with me

Yeah, but that's just civilized society in general - people acting cordial in public regardless of how they actually feel because there's a decorum to preserve. In contrast, a lot of MMO playerbases just devolve into slur-screeching apes at the drop of the hat and it gets tiresome to deal with after a while.

I'd rather have fake and gay than some euro welfare sperg having a meltie and disbanding because the rogue fat fingered their stealth key and pulled slightly early in a heroic dungeon.
