About Jocat, depends on how long or how much people here pay attention to him. He has been openly supporting this whole pride thing from the start. This is just him taking one the whole Hogwarts Legacy for "heckin valid" points.

Some of the loporrits are referred to as "they" but others aren't. My assumption had been that the 'they' loporrits weren't referred to with gendered pronouns in japanese either cause that's the type of thing that just happens sometimes but I haven't tried checking it out for myself.

I didn't really have issue with the Pixies genders or whatever. I mean they're already fae and fae are fucking weird on the best of days. Plus if they did make them "non-binary" they didn't force you to encounter it in any MSQ dialogue that I remember.
 
I remember Vritra explaining to us about dragon biology that felt unnatural. I could try running the game in Japanese and run a machine translation if I don't feel lazy.

It isn't until you're reading some of the later tribal quests and the text bends itself over backwards to use THEY/THEM for a certain lopporrit (it's noticeable, whoever wrote it didn't figure out that you can rely quite a bit on sentence structure to avoid using pronouns, choosing instead to tack in 20 instances of they/them, or maybe they did it on purpose) all the while calling Livingway 'her'.

The least they could do is make sure that their writing doesn't flow like ketchup stuck on the bottom end of the bottle as they attempt to virtue signal.

You're forgetting that if you give too much mileage to self fellate-ing morons who delude themselves into thinking they're on some sort of righteous crusade, they're like to take the whole road.
It started with the Pixies. You make the furry lala's non binary too, what'll you think is gonna happen? They'll try to make any future "non human" races non binary and petition to retcon any that weren't initially made non binary into being non binary and everyone who doesn't agree is a transphobe.

A little bit on the extreme side of thinking, but with how many times we've seen people pull the shit they have, I can believe it.

They got their non binary representation. Don't give them any more or they'll get greedy.

I can't help but look at it like this:

They'll never be satisfied no matter what you do. You placate them, and they'll keep champing at the bit for more. You refuse to bend over for them, and they'll stir up so much fuss about you that it turns into a PR nightmare.

It's better to ignore them. Don't normalize it, don't glorify it, don't give it any sort of acknowledgement. They'll just keep complaining anyway, and we're not the ones with any control and hardly any say in what the game developers will or won't put in the game.
 
I want to say in fairness that Japanese is a genderless language, which is why some translators have difficulty figuring out if the script is talking about a man or woman. However, Kate has a direct line to the dev team so she could and should ask them for clarification.

A woman may ask for directions if she is lost; but a progressive will never ask for clarification if there's room to insert their agenda.

I seem to vividly recall Ga Bu, the enthralled kobold from the MSQ, being referred to as a she in her post-HW initial appearance, but in post-SHB Ga Bu suddenly gained a boy-ish voice (in the English dub, Japanese Ga Bu meanwhile sounds very much like a girl) and is referred to as a they/them. Imagine wanting to virtue-signal so hard that you change the gender of an existing character.

I was always under the impression that Ga Bu was male. I was also always under the impression that Ga Bu, like all kobolds deserves nothing but death.

The Japanese have been using women to voice men for decades. Goku from Dragon Ball and Luffy from One Piece, the two male leads from the biggest, most widespread animes to ever exist are voiced by women in Japan.

Also, I have met some absolutely terrible team mates lately. We wiped on the first room in World of Darkness (the 3 Chimeras before the actual first boss) and I had a tank single pulling Paladin in a lvl 60 dungeon that pulled the pack by cycling his single target combo through every enemy, making me take aggro every time I tried to AOE. Content droughts apparently leave the worst players staying around it seems, idk how else to explain it.

Players who know what they're doing are playing something else during these. It's pure agony which then makes people play something else in the interim which makes it worse. Playing a tank or a healer is like willingly flipping a coin on if things will go well or if you take a cheese grater to your loins.

I think it's new patches that bring back the most retards for a few weeks.

Also it sounds like that dude is playing ARR/HW in the current day. Except Paladins had Flash back then and could spend MP for AoE aggro, so it's still retarded.
