Good writing, be it screenplay or literature, elicits the emotion the writer intended. It’s ok to cry, emotions are human, and some people know how to get you to shed those tears.

So, Kiwis, what film or scene from a film left you wondering where these tears are coming from?

For me, it was Glory (1989). It has fantastic actors and a soundtrack from James Horner. Also, it was based on one of the best stories of the American Civil War. The ending at Fort Wagner left me shedding a tear.

I'm not embarrased to admit that Koe no Katachi made me cry, specially the attempted suicide scene.
(the manga is better btw)

Eternal Sunshine fucked with me very hard. God that movie.
God damn, yes! I thought I was the only one. I’ve recommended it to people and mentioned how some scenes are brutal tearjerkers... and none of them found the movie particularly sad. It crushes my soul.

2:15 in... too many real feels.

Do we even need me to cheat and list Fry's Dog?

Ending of Saving Private Ryan where they advance to current day and he asks his family was I worth it?

Also cheating a second time, Old Yella.
