"Liberalism was crushed under the weight of it's own success", truer words have never been spoken, it is also funnier to say trekies where the thing that made me loss faith in modern liberalism out of all insane things they do these days, it was a video made by Steve shives about how "star trek was not that progressive", to see how he got visibly angered and agitated over past politics considered liberal portrayed in the show because they did not meet his current demands on top of him locking the comment section in order to silence detractors in advance made me realize that both progresives can't and will never be content or fullfilled after reaching ever increasingly ridiculous demands and that they'll never accept criticism over it, a fanatic secular religion if i say so myself

Feral Historian's recent video seems to advocate for Distributism, which attempts to prevent the extreme centralization of power (either by state or individuals) by distributing it amongst the middle/working-class with as little government intervention as possible.

Unfortunately, just like the UFP, how we get to this economic system is barely understood. Such a concept would require unbelievable social and political hurdles, such as transplanting Daoist tenets of generous moderation, alongside a government that knows when to remove boundaries, which many states today are frankly hostile to.

I do think Feral Historian is aware of this, with his commentary on Star Trek's "Rightful Heir" seeming to advocate for a balanced leadership for spiritual, cultural, and tactile problems, but we certainly got a long way to get there.

I recall years ago when I was still talking to other Star Trek fans online, and progressivism was just starting to creep in.

There was someone complaining that Hollywood had actually become more sexist and terrible toward women over time. I pointed out that many shows (like Star Trek Discovery) were heavily female-orientated and had female lead roles, and asked if that was evidence that some progress (however small) for women had been made. Keep in mind I didn't know about SJWs yet and was super respectful and polite. I was not doing a thing.

You'd have thought I had whipped my cock out and attempted to piss in their mouth by the reaction I got. To even suggest that any level of female empowerment had been achieved in Hollywood was incomprehensible. Hollywood was 100% sexist and that was all there was to it. End of story. They essentially said that the existence of female leads meant nothing at all because there weren't enough of them. I, being the young good-faith fellow I was at the time, kept pushing for them to explain what an end-goal looked like. When would they acknowledge that improvement had been made? How many female leads would it take to "move the needle".

They actually malfunctioned and started spewing word-salad. I can't be dazzled by word salad due to my yuge brain. It sticks in my mind as the first time I argued with an SJW-type person, and I was not impressed.

ETA: It was probably not STD, but something that released earlier, I forget the details, shieet

Yes yes, I'm talking about my perception of what was happening. I wasn't a refined nooticer with super deep understanding of political forces as a wee man.

It's like Lemmiwinks was spelunking in a smelly cave for three decades before he realizes it's a colon.

It sticks in my mind as the first time I argued with an SJW-type person, and I was not impressed.

My first impression was that they were gibbering idiots. Only much later did I realize they were utterly unscrupulous and malicious assholes who knew exactly how stupid and destructive their ideas were, and that this was exactly the point.

They actually malfunctioned and started spewing word-salad.

It's not a malfunction. They have a special gland in their asshole that makes them do this. You must have excited them.
