Re: To women in this forum: Are we(men) pigs and inferior to

Been busy all day and I'm gonna have to make this brief.

I'm not saying that men and women are exactly the same anatomically (I'm a biology major ffs), but we're the same mentally, and we're capable of most everything. I guess if we were having a "who can pee standing up" contest, men would always win, or if we were comparing how much blood comes out of our genitals, the women would have the men beat. But we're most capable of making scientific breakthroughs or bending frying pans into knots. So there are anatomical differences, but there's no such thing as women specifically born with weak muscles or men being born with perma-boners. And nobody deserves special privileges. They deserve to get the same treatment as the opposite sex.

I heard not too long ago that a pre-school in Sweden stopped using the words "boy" and "girl", and started to call all the kids "hen" or something like that. Things can get so ridiculous sometimes.
Sweden is so awesome because things like this happen and no one there really gives a damn about it. If that happened in America people would start riots.

In regards to the topic at hand...hoo-boy. I don't feel like touching this one tonight. I'm just glad my fellow cwckians are giving very thoughtful responses.

The problem is that it is ridiculous. Stating someone has a boy or a girl isn't a bad thing. This is not about righting a wrong but people enforcing feel good politics for the sake of feel good politics.

I'm not sure the school is pushing an extremist agenda here - it's like they just embrace ridiculous notions just see what happens. That or they are the one of the biggest troll nations (i.e. IKEA and putting together any furniture from it with wordless directions).

Re: To women in this forum: Are we(men) pigs and inferior to

Actually, a lot of the time, I find myself referring to people neutrally. Although I still use he and she when referring to specific people.

Re: To women in this forum: Are we(men) pigs and inferior to

Just say "they"...

Re: To women in this forum: Are we(men) pigs and inferior to

Sometimes I call women that I know personally, dudes. Not because I think they're dudes, but because I'm so used to calling people dudes.

Odd thing is though, I grew up around more woman than men.

Re: To women in this forum: Are we(men) pigs and inferior to

^Around where I live it's normal to refer to groups as "You guys", even groups composed solely of women.

I love how Sweden isn't making a big deal about the preschool. If this was somewhere in the more savage parts of the US like Utah or Texas they might try to burn the teachers as witches. Only halfway kidding.

Re: To women in this forum: Are we(men) pigs and inferior to

I think the mods should move this to the Deep Thoughts forum.

Considering how uber liberal that country is, they're DEFINITELY pushing an agenda.

Re: To women in this forum: Are we(men) pigs and inferior to

Brother, any Hulkamaniac is certainly not inferior. Because Hulkamania is the most powerful force in the universe. WHATCHA GONNA DO, FEMINISTS, WHEN ALL THE HULKAMANIACS OF THE WORLD RUN WILD ON YOU?!

I second that, people are starting to discuss Feminism as a theory rather then the specific topic Homor brought up. Namely feminists vs men in the media and their controversy.

Well, the topic seems kind of broad. Homor didn't even say much about the three people mentioned with the exception of, "Google it." I'll go ahead and move it over to deep thoughts, and if the people mentioned are indeed over the top crazy, you guys can discuss them in the lolcow board.

EDIT: Oh, my bad, someone moved it for me while I was typing that out. :/

ALSO: I see whoever moved it doesn't know how to stop leaving shadow posts.

They're there so that people will be able to still find the topic if they don't know it's been moved. Duh.

The problem is that it makes no sense. There is no long term psychological conseqeunces to being called by a gender pronoun. Even people who feel genderless usually dont have a problem going by their physical sex. This is an example of progressiveness for the sake of progressiveness and this is coming from someone who is VERY progressive on gender rights.

Re: To women in this forum: Are we(men) pigs and inferior to

I'd have no problem with it if it were about inclusiveness. As in, girls should be allowed to play soldier if they want to and boys can play with dolls if they want to, and neither would be shamed for it. This shit seems to just be denying reality of the world we live in. The stuff about gender being 100% social brainwashing is nonsense.

Re: To women in this forum: Are we(men) pigs and inferior to

Hey what is the term these radical feminists use for women who disagree with their worldview? Something like "sister saboteurs" or something?

Everything with liberals is about their feelings and never about logic

Hmm, speaking of feelings over logic, I could have sworn it is the conservatives who want to teach creationism in the schools and pretend that climatology science doesn't exist.

But, that's incorrect also. We aren't the same mentally.

Yeah but women are born with weaker muscles than men.

Men might be stronger than women, but women are stronger than Clyde Cash.
