In less then three weeks (Sunday, 24.) Germany elects the new Bundestag. for more details see here
Possible coalitions are: CDU/SPD: unpopular, only if nothing else works; SPD/Linke/Grüne: unlikely because of ideological differences; CDU/FDP or CDU/Grüne: majority uncertain

The major parties and their candidates are:

CDU: 39% center right, party of chancellor Merkel, carried by her popularity

SPD: 24% center left, Martin Schulz, former president of the European Parliament, distancing themselfs from the CDU with more social justice (not in the american interpretation)

FDP: 9% liberal, Christian Lindner (youngest candidate), lower taxes, business friendly, personal freedom

Linke: 8% left, Sahra Wagenknecht (hard left) and Dietmar Bartsch (moderate left)

AfD: 8% right, Alexander Gauland (former CDU member, changed when the CDU went too centrist) anti refugees

Grüne: 7% green, Katrin Göring-Eckardt and Cem Özdemir (both from the conservative wing) prefer a coalition with CDU or SPD over the Linke

Leaders like Merkel are why we have term limits. Well, in our case, it was actually FDR and just the fact he had 4 terms and died brain-damaged and incompetent, but would have been elected until he died anyway.

It wasn't FDR in particular, though, but the general consensus that we should never, ever have a "President-for-life" even if they're good.

For instance, Obama could easily have turned into this despite not even being near FDR-tier. Merkel is a similar mediocrity. She's popular, isn't outright awful (on most issues), but has no particular claim to dictator-for-life status and is nevertheless elected over and over again. She's been there what, 12 fucking years? Why?

She's just not that good.

Because daddy said so, and daddy was Chancellor for 16 years.

Disclaimer: Not actually her father or anything, but he picked and groomed merkel for the job. She probably sucked his soul from his eyeballs at some point for a chance at eternal reign.

Literally the same party that ruled east german with a iron fist for 40 years.

They were probably even worse than the Nazis, aside from the Holocaust, the Gestapo was a a children detective gang compared to the STASI.

Yup. Pretty much fits the bill for the "Linke".
One can say, that these "organizations" in the GDR were brownshirts by nature, just dyed them red.

This is exactly the kind of shit why we have term limits. It doesn't actually prevent dynasties and other shit that is generally deprecated as harmful, but it slightly curtails personality cults, at least.

Merkel needs to go. Are you Germans going to get rid of her? She's way too comfortable in her weird position of simultaneously being the dictator of Germany and the EU at the same time. Seriously, even Hitler never achieved the level of power over Europe that this cunt has.

Germany being Mercucked means the kebab refugees mostly just end up there, so thanks for taking one for the team, Germany.

So... Germany is lost? :(

All European anti-immigration parties have gone down in the polls, and both Wilders and le Pen failed to meet their polling averages. There is speculation that Trump is killing the alt-right movement in Europe, due to people seeing how such a leader would work in a Western Country. Others say people are finally catching on to “REMOVE KEBAB” not being a way to run the government. Recall that the big slogan against Wilders was “How, Geert?”, basically asking how these people would take care of the dozens of other government issues they rarely address. They’re being accused (and in some cases, are) running on single issue platforms, and those rarely win elections.

Well, the centre is very different depending on what country you're in. The American center is basically far-right neo-nazis by European standards, and likewise the European centre is communist pinkos to Americans. The UK seems to be a bit closer to America than Europe though, so it makes sense they'd want to get out of the EU, an evil far-left globalist offshoot of the Communist Party, or a moderate centre-right alliance, depending on who you ask.

europe started 2 world wars and the holocaust though so their opinions don't matter

What they need is a center right party (by American standards) to take charge. I know it's a pipe dream in Germany, but something that is actually somewhat sane compared to what Germany has atm. Idk if Germany can handle a few more years of this mass imagination shit before collapsing

Isn't this what always happens? A crisis happens, the U.S. does something, Europe goes "lol Americans are dumb and ignorant" and they do the exact opposite for about 10-20 years. Then a world war happens.

You know what they say, third time's a charm.

Before both world wars it was America going "lol Europoor fags always fightin' n' sheit" because the Europoor fags were always fighting and shit.

Things have changed since WWII, obviously.
