I've only seen like 3 or 4 of his videos, does he always come off as being on coke/meth/some stimulant?
He does and that's why I like him. He'll also sometimes get really distracted and forget he has something on his burner. It ends up being useful as he shows if it can be fixed or not.

Chinese cooking demystified and Tasting history are the ones I watch frequently. I tried the recipe of blood bread recently. It really doesn't taste of blood at all.

Townsends seems pretty cool. He's not a typical "chef" but describes how food is made with ingredients that were available in the 18th century.

Most foodtubers I hate because of ridiculous editing, rare/expensive ingredients, high-end equipment that have no home equivalent (smokers, dry-aging, etc.), or other bullshit.

Gonna throw an oddball out that I'm sure won't appeal to many, but..

La Herencia de las Viudas.

I found this channel randomly a couple months ago looking for a recipe for something, and I sorta love it. It's not going to be very useful unless you put some work in it, or speak Spanish... it's not in English, the subtitles are in Spanish even... sometimes you can use auto-translate, but it's hit or miss. And she uses some equipment you're probably not going to have access to, just because of the cultural differences. Still, it's fascinating to watch, and she seems very charming.

Been watching a lot of this br*tish cooking channel. I found them a long time ago in a topic about food disasters since they have a segment called "pass it on" where each person cooks part of a dish and gets replaced without communicating to the next person what they've done or what they're making. Its a genuinely entertaining shitshow.

But they also have a recurring theme about food waste, but in a practical way. I don't care about the environment, but I do care about wasting money and throwing away leftovers. So most of the videos in this channel ends up having a lot of tips and tricks about how to preserve leftovers, reuse them or just how to buy your groceries efficiently in general.

Anti-Chef is amusing. A non trained cook learning how to cook using julia childs cookbook. He fucks up as often as not.

They're quite popular so I'm surprised nobody's said them yet but SortedFood - the British guys who do food based entertainment are legitimately fun to watch and over the years I've honed chefy skills from them that have seriously stepped up my game. My favourites are when they do challenges that apply to normal life like reusing ingredients as much as possible over a theoretical week to create new dishes each time without breaking the bank, or posh version of something vs the cheap.

You get the added bonus of seeing the chefs verses the home cooks ('normals') - though I'd argue after this many years and skill increases these guys barely class as 'normals' anymore and are pretty close to chefs themselves.

Example:

They have quite diverse content so I'd encourage people to look over their library - there's bound to be something that catches your eye.

In regards to Adam Ragusea, I don't mind his food vids but dear god don't ever listen to his podcast. Having just listened to the last two I can only say that the man is such a collosal faggot he make Liberace look like a chad.
Apparently he shared his thoughts on Gaza in the latest one.

I don't care enough to listen to it, but I did care enough to share it with you, and I read some of the comments.

John Kirkwood, cook from the north of England.

Basic British comfort food. Pies, stews, shit like that. It's like getting in a time machine to my childhood. Also has some good bread and dough recipes knocking around. Pud recipes etc

The main draw is his lovely soft norf accent though
I seem to have a thing for this kind of content because the algorithm gave me another one.

Similar to the above, but very focused on the idea of making good food, cheap.

Nothing fancy, very basic Anglo foods, scones, pies, pastries etc

Here's a sausage roll recipe that he prices out at 50/60p or something

Chef Michel Dumas

A mix of old school high level French cuisine with a modern editing style and recipe (his son).

It's really cozy, the chef is a stand up guy and really passionate about cooking and the ingredients from his region.

So many youtube chefs either always were or turned into the most insufferable faggots with unimaginably swollen egos like Rageusa, Binging with Babish, and more recently Tasting History, that I dislike most of them these days. There are three, well two and a half a chef, I guess? That I still tolerate these days.

First off, Scott Rea at https://www.youtube.com/@TheScottReaproject , he may look like the most stereotypical brit-bong white trash ever with his tattoos and norf-FC gut poking into the camera BUT he truly knows his butchery and cuts of meat, has a tolerable voice, and even hunts which makes him infinitely more tolerable than the average Bonglander. I ran into his channel when he had sub 50k and the youtube algorithm was still worth half a shit and has made a fair deal of his recipes, mostly bird and pork ones.
The recipe below makes for amazing cold cuts on sandwiches:

Secondly is Townsends https://www.youtube.com/@townsends which many have mentioned, he still seems to remain grounded and focused on making the kind of content people came to his channel for and still want even after all these years which is a rarity nowadays.
The video below is the first one I remember seeing, likewise ages ago when the algorithm was not crap, and have done a few times for lazy camping supplies:

Finally, Capt. John's Bar at https://www.youtube.com/@CaptJohnsBar , Recipe playlist: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLC8AB908FF8981CB1 , this is not really a cooking channel but more one of those everything channels who also does a bit of cooking.
I somehow always remember this channel because I looked up a recipe for Banana Bread ages ago, wrote it down, and still use the recipe every now and then:
