Favorite strange musicians/instruments?

There's another, completely unrelated instrument I'd post too if I could remember the name of it at all. All I remember is that it's an electronic bass(?) that has to be laid flat and are on the market for 3-7k per unit.
 
Not strange but exotic: the erhu is a Chinese fiddle that makes a very unique and beautiful sound.

And perhaps more unconventional than strange, the pan flute. I just love the sound. Can’t really describe music.

And then there's Futureman
I saw this guy with Bela Fleck a long time ago. They were pretty good.
 
One of my friends in high school who was pretty good at the drums had the same birthday as the drummer for Tool, who is very good at the drums. I guess that's the day that god distributes drummers to the world each year.
