I make cranberry salsa on top of the regular sauce.
Dump some cranberries in a bowl, rinse them a couple times, then transfer them to the food processor a handful at a time. Pick out any that have wrinkles or aren't very firm and fresh. Grate the zest off of a few clementines, tangerines or an orange and peel the pith off of them, remove any seeds. peel and trim some fresh ginger, then put the ginger, zest and fruit in the food processor. Pulse it a couple times, add plain sugar to taste. You can also add booze if you want, it's good with a bit of red wine or brandy added.
