One of the best ways to stockpile food back in the days of antiquity was to salt/preserve foods, and nothing has stood the test of time like dehydration. Modern conveniences have yet to substitute the nuances of charcuterie.

Dried pineapple is probably my favorite of the dried fruits, as I am a bit picky about what I have with raisins. I haven't had dried fish yet but it sounds pretty interesting to be honest, coming from watching most of Andrew Zimmern's shows.

My cousin once made dried corned beef that I'm not entirely convinced members of my family wouldn't commit wholesale murder over.

Jamon is probably one of my favorite cured meats. Really, any cured meat is good.

I also love me some smoked or sun-dried salmon.

Banana chips are pretty good.

EDIT: I totally forgot - I once tried horsemeat salami and actually really enjoyed it. It was kind of peppery and had a really interesting flavor to it, and I've been looking for horsemeat sausages since then and haven't been able to find any :(

Banana chips are fantastic. I honestly prefer them to normal bananas.

Bressaola. There's a restaurant near me that serves that with burrata cheese- yum.

Also there's a distributor of Tropical Foods near me, which is an awesome place to buy most kinds of dried fruit and nuts at wholesale prices. We're talking cheap, cheap, cheap.

I love me some cured meats, but since that's already glanced over instead of sperging I will mention what I just tried and it was just wonderful.
Freeze dried tangerines. Holy shit are they good.

Trader Joe's dried mango slices are the shit. Apple chips are great and easy to make too.

Love me some dried mango. I recently tried some dried cranberries from a local organic health food store and holy shit are they good.
