Oh, I love me a good chip. I'm partial to the Cape Cod Sweet & Spicy Jalapeño flavor, but I like jalapeño in general.

(I also love a good BBQ chip, and salt & vinegar... basically, anything savory or spicy)

I‘m a fan of some chip brands…
  • Zapp’s Voodoo chips
  • Most varieties of Tim’s, but I’m a sucker for trying their Sasquatch Surprise chips whenever they’re available
  • Cheddar and Sour Cream Ruffles
  • Lays but only if it’s a limited-edtion flavor and if catches my eye

Salt n vinegar strong enough to peel all the skin from the roof of my mouth.
I used to like them, but then I had potatoes fried in duck fat and finished with salt, rosemary, cayenne and vinegar and could never look back.

As for potato chips, I like the cheap truffle one that Lays did, but this is my favourite.

Have you noticed the sharp decline in the strength of them though? Especially the fancy brands seem to have really lost their punch.
In the UK the fancy supermarket ones are still pretty good, but I could swear that Kettle Chips used to be fiercer. 🤔

This reminds me I had some rosemary flavoured crisps that were really good, underrated flavour. I really like paprika ones too but you don't get them so much here as in the rest of Europe.

Dunno if they count as chips, but boiled peanuts are the fucking bees knees. Barring those, Doritos used to have a Late Nite run of chips. There was a Late Nite Taco, and a Late Nite Cheeseburger. These are the greatest chips to have ever existed. The flavor profile wasn't like typical "Taco, Burger" type chips. You could taste the lettuce, the pickle, the flamebroiled patty, the cheese, the ketchup, the salsa, each individual component. They were chips advertised as tasting like a different food, that actually tasted like that food. Discontinued for a long while, but apparently they brought back the Taco for a trial run at Kroger and affiliates. Haven't tasted them yet to see if they are as good as they were, but I'm not holding out hope. "Revival" snacks never taste as good the second time around.
Also, edit: if you really like a flavor of chip, go to your local chinese store to get the overseas version. Much, much higher quality of ingredients, usually much less ingredients. Hell, even the bag in the Taiwanese Lay's Barbecue chip is thicker and more robust than the American Lay's Barbecue.
