I think Ubisoft in general is going down the path of making everything silly/lighthearted. It used to be generally serious games with some moments that were funny but now it's all turned around. The contrast is really weird, their games often have a very serious theme but they still crack stupid jokes all the time. It's as if they are afraid of having adult tones in their games.Far Cry 2 was the only one I liked, tbh. I think they should go back to the more morally relativistic/nihilistic tone, and keep parts of the story up to interpretation. It seems like the series is getting progressively stupider, like Saints Row.
One moment in particular that stood out to me in Far Cry 6 was when Dani gets captured by Anton and has his molars ripped out in a pretty horrific scene, only for an allied NPC to make a joke about him having to chew his food in the front like a rabbit now. It was basically "haha you got tortured because of me, get over it already". There was no weight to that scene, no consequences, only a dumb joke in the end. The contrast was so jarring
