Why do I get the feeling the "Salt" and "Controversy behind this is like when EA hired actors to pretend to be Christians offended at Dante's Inferno?
 
So if you're on the far right, you're upset because the Peggies are basically you and your friends and that hurts your fee-fees.

And if you're on the far left, you're upset because the PC is a local deputy and not some dangerhair communist non-heteronormative peaohsea shootin' up rednecks and that hurts your fee-fees.

So we're getting salt from both sides, yay!

It's not so much that as the entire narrative the Hysterical Left is trying to sell. Keep in mind that folks barely right of Stalin are being accused of being racistsexisthomophobic genocidal maniacs for the sin of not spitting every time Trump's name is mentioned. It's becoming a conditioned reflex to respond to such portrayals.

Hypersensitivity born of the current atmosphere, is what I'm getting at.

It's the opposite, actually. They perceive that the bad guys claiming to be Christian is a statement on how Christianity is dangerous and stuff like this is common when it's not.

Of course jumping to that conclusion makes them look insecure. You have to take some 1960s Batman logic path like "games industry is full of progressives -> bad guys are a Christain cult -> there's no bad guy Muslim game -> they're saying Christianity is worse than Islam! aaaaargh!"

Given how everything is political now (especially video games) I wouldn't be shocked to find some juicy progressive nuggets in the finished game but that stuff's worth an eyeroll at best, not a chimpout.
