I've been causally researching fanaticism for five years now.

So far I have come across books such as:
Eric Hoffer True Believer
In praise of doubt by Peter Berger
And Lucifer principal by Howard bloom.

What other sources can you site concerning the subject?

What creates it? What the negatives and pros of fanaticism? Could anti fanaticism be considered a political identity? If yes how so?

If you have nothing worth dying for, then you have nothing worth living for.

What creates it?

For some people belief is more self-gratifying than doubt.

What the negatives and pros of fanaticism?

I think that belief and doubt exist on a spectrum. On one end is absolute nihilism and the rejection of all value. On the other end is fanaticism and the refusal to question value. Both are, in my view, equally toxic social phenomena. In many ways I would prefer to live among zealots than among chronic nihilists.
