Hey all, just a quick thread bump. Been dealing with a sizeable project at work last few week. The fun, work 60-70 hours per week kind of project. Will hopefully be wrapping that up shortly and will have the time and energy to focus on TRS.

Until then, AMA TRS related. Hate to see this thread dead.... again....

One good piece of info though- this chapter will finally be wrapping up in the next 2-3 pages.
 
Wheeee update time, at least while I still have some energy.

Well, it's like the old saying goes, "when it rains, it pours." Good news is that I got that print project done I was bitching about a few weeks ago. Bad news is that right as I was wrapping that up, my best bud at work turned in his two weeks as he got a better job out of town. See, he and I worked great as a team, and for years he's always give me grief about maybe looking for work elsewhere... and of course, he's the one to bail. So, not only are we even more-short staffed at work, I've been covering his shit, which means my entire existence is now mostly work and sleep with short bouts of semi-conciousness. It's a charmed life.

But... I have been making some very, very slow progress on the next few pages. Hoping things get better by next week, but I've learned to not hope for the best because that only gets me in the end. So! Let's answer some questions...

I think I might have some stuff pertaining to the ponies coming up, but they won't be a major character arc. With Team Magi in the Time VOid, that gives me an excuse to have some alternative dimension shenanigans. But if I do, don't expect the ponies to be MLP clones. My avatar is about the closest thing to "cute" as I can get.

1) Because I'm a terrible human being and I want the rest of the world to suffer with me.
2) They're around - probably will be showing them more soon. Just didn't have much use for them in the past few previous pages.

Wellll... this gives me a nice segue way into some character reference sheets I've been working on. Unlike previous chapters, gonna be trying to get some character art done ahead of time instead of just winging it and having to constant refer to previous pages to make the characters stay somewhat coherent in appearance.

The next chapter will be focused primarily on MLW and Rosechu, with Team Magi acting as a secondary story, and some of the outlying plotlines filling in the gaps. Also unlike the last chapter which went.... way, way too long, I'm going to be focusing on keeping everything within a regular comic book length so, somewhere between 20-30 pages per chapter. This essentially forces me to stay on point and avoid meandering which I am very apt to do, obviously.

Simplifying the boots, realizing I still need to work on making feet look like, well, feet.

BTW, Miami Nights 1984 is excellent work music.

Probably will be in "lioness" mode when we catch up with her, illustrated her basic costume because I wanted to make sure I had color reference.

Somewhere down the road while we visit Blake in the clink. This was a quick experiment, seeing how he'd look a bit more jacked, since he probably won't have a lot of space to run like in lockdown. Not entirely pleased with how it looks, the buff arms make him look awkward. Probably will go back to the more standard stringy arm style. Debating on tattoos.

Good to see you back, and don’t kill yourself over this. It’s worth whatever the wait may be.
 
This is actually a very engaging and thrilling comic. The same can't be said about the original. Take however much time you need to continue it, it's well worth the wait.

I'm only up to part 7, but fuck man, you make Spunky and Rosechu such sympathetic characters. I love it. If Chris could write like this Sonichu would be one of the best Manga's ever. I also really like Magi-chan in this iteration, quite the tragic charater so far.


And after finishing part 7...
Holy fuck my dude, you're such a good writer. Keep it up.
