Yeeeeeah... kinda? Zapan's mark is actually the Kronos symbol, which was popularized by the band Blue Oyster Cult, which apparently was a huge influence on Battle Angel Alita's creator Yukito Kishiro. For example, the main antagonist Desty Nova is named after Desdinova, one of the main figures in the BOC song "Astronomy" (as well as the entire Imaginos concept album - an album title which shares the same name as Alita's new body at the beginning of Last Order). Another little pointless bit of trivia - the character Doctor Ido is early on seeing harvesting cyborg eyes - this is a reference to the BOC song "Harvester of Eyes."

ANNNNND if you like this type of artstyle I'm using for The Real Sonichu: Sin Sonichu Summer Spechul - then try to find a copy of "Ashen Victor" which Kishiro aped the whole Frank Miller monochrome look.

See I even like Blue Oyster Cult and that went over my head. Nice to see we have the same tastes in manga though; Battle Angel Alita and BAA: Last Order are some of my favorite series. They were nice and subtle with their references unlike Jojo that straight up names Stand's after famous rock bands.

Okay, first of all, I wanted to apologize to @SuperSheep - going through the past page, my response to them came of to them a bit snarkier than I wanted it to. I do appreciate them catching my spelling error... but I'm going to be exorbitantly lazy and probably not fix it.


You know, back in the day I really wanted to. And to be completely honest I still would love to do so, but the main outfits like DC and Marvel (especially Marvel), have completely alienated me. I know I could start out indie or maybe do something with Image or Dark Horse or whatever, but I honestly have no idea where to even start anymore.
