I didn't, no, but I'm getting a chilling feeling, as if my posts are being affected by her ghostly presence ever since I posted that picture...
 
Patti is adorable. I wish there was a non-creepy anime series about magical dogs, that would be hella cute.

Also I love your version of Lolisa! The blazer and skirt make her look like a real professional reporter rather than an MTV background dancer.
 
I agree with the others: your work is worth the wait. Take as much time as you need to do the comics and drawings: we'd rather that you be happy and healthy than to have a neverending stream of comics that causes you to crash into slumber.

Also, Patti is freaking adorable. I'm kind of predicting that Rosechu will not have very good interactions with her in the long run, though. Or... maybe she'll find that the two of them have a lot in common. They're both pawns when you get down to it, as they were likely happy being who they were before and then Chris forced magic upon them and now they're just sort of his puppets.

Anybody notice a difference at all in the quality of artwork?

Lolisa strikes me as one of those reporters who have to pep it up in order to maintain a job in the field, and all they really wanted to do since they were a kid was be a hard-hitting journalist. It's a bit of a trope now, but I like that idea for her.

That's a very good observation, actually. their lives parallel quite a bit, but there's a few key differences between them that will ensure that they'll meet very different fates.

I'm really looking forward to seeing Rosechu's take on her relationship with Sonichu - I'm going to guess this retelling of their first story is going to be short a few fireworks.

Edit: Retelling - not repelling. (Although I might have been spot on with that in a way...)
 
YAAAAY new page! It's interesting how you depiction of Sonichu feels more like a hyper-energetic 8-year old whereas Chris Sonichu just felt like that one annoying character from every Saturday morning cartoon while growing up that had to be the "cool" character. Sonichu, just the way he pops in is much more vibrant and interesting than anything Chris accomplished.

Also poor Rosechu. I wonder if the cabin has a DVD player or something. I would suggest vidya, but vidya is a fucking pain to play if you're stuck wearing gloves.
 
Why do I have a feeling you're actually going to make us care about Patti-chan( Not to say Chris didn't try to make us care about him, and for what it was worth, wasn't that bad)? I'm keeping my fingers crossed that Patti isn't the "real" Patti and is a clone created to keep Chris happy, or Meg-Chan could have some involvement in this plot(she did draw the original sketch IRL). I just hope Patti doesn't die some gruesome death knowing how much you made us care about Rosechu.

Same here. I just see this turning into a situation where Patti tries her hardest to make Chris happy (because that's what Good Dogs do), only he's never happy and then we have a "break the cutie" situation. (sighs)

I like the way the backgrounds look. They were nice before, but these seem more expansive and detailed somehow. The perspective with the house is also pretty cool as well. I'm definitely not an expert, but this is incredibly well laid out as a whole.

Yeah, it does kind of look like that, lighting isn't always an easy thing to do, I'm afraid. Might fix it later, though, if I figure out how.

Well, she can take the gloves off, of course. Unfortunately, they only have a little stereo combination CD/cassette player for entertainment (I'm fudging the timeline of technology in this comic somewhat, but trying to keep it mostly consistent to the late 90's, when this takes place). Kel left her Nintendo at home in Pallet Town. She's a trainer, after all, she can't haul that stuff everywhere she goes. I could see her having a Gameboy, though.

I actually haven't decided for sure what role she's going to play, I just know where I want her to start and where I want her to end up. Of course, that's subject to change if I find something that fits better with the story, but yes, I think she's going to be interesting.

Trickie, did you summon Patti in order to make a more realistic drawing of her? Were you possesed? Am I speaking to Patti now?
 
Damn, it's been a while since I last commented, it's almost like I'm back to my old lurking days...

So yeah, I'm just as horrible at that "Who's that Sonichu" as I thought I'd be. I took a look at that silhouette and I think at first I was mostly focused on the tail, and since it was circular I thought it was Bubbles, but then I thought "No, that can't be right, it's not entirely round" but I couldn't think of any alternatives and gave up fairly quickly. It didn't even cross my mind that it was Lolisa until I saw pretty much everyone else guessing it was her and sure enough...it's probably extra dumb of me not to have guessed it was her because I was the one who drew her for the freakin' Fan Jam cover! The shame, the shame of it all!

Anyways, onto the newer stuff. I really like how the current page turned out, it took a lot of time but it was worth it! Really love the extra details in the background, especially the light over Rosechu, and holy cow your version of Sonichu is just as lovable as ever, the way he enters the scene is just so charming that I want to reach out and hug him so badly!

It'll be interesting to see how you handle where this goes, although I sort of agree with Cotton Pudding in that given how things are going between them it might be short a few fireworks, but eh, you never know. Either way I bet you're gonna do an awesome fuckin' job.

On a side note, sorry if any of this post turned out incomprehensible at all, I'm currently fighting a cold and I haven't been in the best frame of mind lately thanks to how crummy I feel.
