Sonichu [Fan Comic] Rosechu's Story - A reimagining of the Sonichu story from Rosechu's perspective.

He's offering discounts until the 22nd I believe, free upgrade from Black and White commission to Colour, and a free autographed commission and autographed photo if you buy one of the $200 drawings.

Hmm...free upgrade to color? Did his post about it say you had to have purchased a drawing from him before? I might just not be understanding his posts on FB. Cause if I can get a free upgrade, I'm considering it.

Not really sure. You could try messaging him for clarification, probably best doing that through Ebay instead of facebook.

Will Darkbind show up? And will it turn out that he's not even a recolor but just suffering extensive genetic mutations from centuries of royal "pedigree"?

Yes, he will show up! But no, as funny as becoming a sonic recolor through inbreeding would be, his backstory isn't going to be THAT fucked up.

Looking forward to your take on Darkbind, Trickie! As it is in original Sonichu I consider him the least interesting and most pointless of Chus, and that's saying a lot.

Wait, you didn't know that he's a Darkwing Duck and Link knockoff?

Nevermind, I'm stupid. I read that as "As it is an original Sonichu". I should've been tipped off when you called him an "it". xD

Re:Rosechu being the odd one out with Kel's nicknaming

I just kinda figured the only reason Chris didn't nickname the Raichu was either because he couldn't think of a gal pal to name him/her/xir/whatever was more to do with the fact that he was going to transform the Pokémon into a Rosechu anyway.

On that note, I'd think Rosechu would be even less thrilled that her name is still just the name of her "species"(if that's what you want to call it). Ok, Sonichu and Rosechu gained their names after their transformations but still. How would Rosechu react knowing Bubbles, Angelica, Lolisa, etc have names preceding the Rosechu moniker?

That argument sounded a lot clearer in my head, but does anyone see where I'm going with this?

I can, actually. In Chris' head, Sonichu and Rosechu are the Adam and Eve of their kind (with like a strange bunch of little mutant spin-offs that just so happened to be created along with them for no discernible reason.) As such, they don't get to have any other name as identification. He'd also probably try to justify it with "It's only one word, like Cher or Madonna."

If Rosechu got angry at seeing other Pokemon nicknamed, I think it would be less about the name itself and more about the implications that come with it: either a trainer who loved and cared enough to nickname them; or a loving family of wild Pokemon which, however bizarre, decided to give a name to their offspring. Both paint a pretty disheartening picture for Rosechu.

Oh, totally. Granted I always sorta thought that if she had any personality other than essentially being a blow up doll for Sonichu, she'd most likely be proud of such a fact, given that she was the first one to be named that and all based on how the entire species was named after her. I always guessed that she'd think of herself as highly influential because of that, although I can definitely see the point you're making and it's very interesting to consider, especially considering the mindset that Rosechu has shown so far in this comic. We're just most likely going to have to wait and see her reaction to such a thing.

From Rosechu's perspective, she gave herself a name the minute she was able to speak on her own, so I don't think she'd be angry about it in the way that she is not getting one from Kel. Like Lil said, it's less about the name and more about the implication behind it. When everyone else on the team got a nickname, it singled him out, indicating that he wasn't as valuable or worth as much effort as the others were.

Of course, Chris could've had Kel give the name Rosechu to her pokemon to begin with (I've seen Raichus with weirder names) and might've even had a stronger case against the "GIRL. RAICHU." thing for it.

I think the main influential factor to how she'll react to her name being the name that every female of her species carries is how the news is given to her and why it came about.

Like spazzing out in a carseat? :P

I'm not going to lie, from what I know about how Solid's powers work, I like to think that the names of Sonichu, Rosechu, and etc were implanted into their minds telapathically...like Sonichu is created and he hears a voice echo in the back of his mind telling him "Your name is Sonichu", that or Chris could've whipped him until his name was Toby and brainwashed him so that his version of the events is what actually happened. Sonichu just automatically accepts it as truth because he's a)understandably curious about the nature of his being, and/or b)re-education taught him that thinking otherwise makes him a DAMN DIRTY TROLL. Of course I might be just giving Solid too much credit. Maybe he might've been able to do it if he overshadowed the "Liquid" half...

The mental image I'm getting from that is both horrifying and just funny, oh my god my sides.

The next time there's a sketch request opening in this thread, I'd love to see Trickie's take on that.

If you want an idea of what torturing Sonichu like that would entail, read CWCville 1984. It's an old fic from back when the Fan section of the CWCki was still up.

Hmmm...I just noticed that Trickie liked my other post...perhaps Sonichu will experience some kind of catapult/coma dream of events that happened previously ala Book 1 of The Legend of Korra?
