Well! Looks like Sunday's page isn't happening. Apparently they're keeping her for the weekend at least, and I've promised to be there with her for as long as their visiting hours allow me, so nothing from me for a few days. I'll be spending whatever free time I get trying to finish the current page, so I'll post that up as soon as it's done. For now, let's hope that Thursday's page doesn't get cancelled too, because I'm not even going to be able to do sketch requests if this keeps up.

I think Kel's absorbed a bit more of my own personality than I meant her to, because this is exactly the kind of thing I would do if I was a trainer and had a pokemon who could talk, just kind of fuck with them a little bit. "Dude, that Lapras is pretty hot, doncha think? You're in the same egg group too!"

Well, if that happens just rename the comic to "Trickie's Shapeshifting Adventures" and add a few more panels that show you turning into some of the main characters. Then in true Sonichu fashion never explain or resolve why you're in it. ;)

While I don't know exactly how big of a role Kel will play in the story further up the road, the way you've written her isn't bad, far from it actually. The fact that you are trying to write from that perspective makes a character more relatable that way if you ask me.

It's good that you are keeping in mind that you don't want to make your characters complete mouthpieces, which sets you leagues above Chris as a writer. My advice would be when you are unsure of how x character would react in y situation, just think about what you know about the character and ask yourself "what would x do?" I'm sure that you will be able to take Sonichu and the Chaotic Combo in interesting directions given the way you've been progressing. :)

Bottom line, be conscious about how you write a character, but not too conscious. As long as you aren't writing a character to act as a mouthpiece for your political beliefs or something, you'll be fine. Just write what you know. It's amazing the way fanon can take a character with only one or two defining traits, build off of them and take them in interesting directions.

I noticed the comment about your friend…

One of my favorite artists (Joshua Barney aka spiraldust, creator of ask keis stuffs) was having problems and was going to kill himself.

According to Scott j fox, he is perfectly fine, but he has left the internet :(

I managed to get a reply on his blog(ask keis stuffs), but said post wasn't archived (it was of me asking if there are any post he won't answer, and he used two of mine as examples: me asking if I can see Keis's prehensile clitoral hood (look up sergals))


I wanted to comment on rosechus zophalic comment, then I read your post…

So, coloring is late because of reasons. I think I'm going to tentatively call off Thursday's page, but if I manage to get it done on time or shortly thereafter I might just proceed as scheduled. Whatever works.

By the way, I've got all the pages up on something that at least resembles a proper webcomic page, and it's got Disqus comments where you can make jokes n stuff or whatever, or if you're tumblr inclined you can share the posts with all your friends. You can find that page here!

Anyway, with your version of this story, it really does add an extra flair of suspicion on ol' Sonichu. In the original comic, he just went straight to their door without thinking of the repercussions. This version, he was obviously slinking about outside, maybe sizing them up to know how to better approach them. Not meaning I think he'd go all Michael Myers or anything, but he does state he is is a real wild one, like he was sizing them up like an alley cat would.

Also, in the TRUE and HONEST original, Rosechu's next line was, "I don't believe it! A handsome Pokemon who is like me... I've got to learn about him!" which immediately made her sound like a vapid, hollow excuse of a character. However, your version of Rosechu has pretty much built something out of next-to-nothing, so I'm looking forward to seeing your interpretation. Keep up the awesome work!

Actually, the TRUE and HONEST CWCkipedia entry on Sonichu says that he didn't go straight to the door, but hung around a little bit to work up the nerve to knock on the door. I didn't really mean to imply anything about his intentions, really, except that it sounded fun to have him with his face pressed against the window xD

Anyway, today's page isn't happening, I'm afraid. It's not even far enough to present as a sketch page, but I think it might be fun to post a "behind the scenes" pic like _blank_ did for his comic. I'll definitely get that in on Sunday. I'm sorry everyone. ; A ;

Let's see... for Chris to crank out as many pages as Trickie has... well, if he started right now, he might be neck and neck with her oh.... autumn of 2017? That is of course if Trickie does nothing between here and then... but I really hope she does, I'm liking this comic a ton. :)

If Chris started up his comic again, I would be so happy. I wouldn't even care if he put out comics faster than I do, I wouldn't even be mad, I'd just bask in the renewed hilarity.

Anyway, here's today's comic, hot off the press. I need to add the notes and explanation to my "behind the scenes" thing, but that won't take too long.

Rosechu's suddenly in a chipper mood, and Sonichu looks like he's wondering what on earth his gotten himself into. As for Kel, well... you'll see here in a few pages.
 
I've gotten so use to _blank_'s portrayal of Sonichu, I'd forgot he's not a villain in-canon(or as in-canon as Sonichu gets. anyway).

Great job making this sceen way way less awkward and weird, Trickle. I actually WANT to know what goes one with these interpretations of characters

Heh, here's the thing though- I really don't write along lines of "heroes" or "villains." My version of Sonichu isn't interested in global domination or anything villainy like that. I will say my interpretation does have a lot of villainous traits - he's very forceful, aggressive, manipulative and spiteful character. All the same, despite having the ability to take on dragons and armies of kill-bots or whatever, he's still very much restrained by his idiot of a father and the fact that he has been more or less relegated into a subserviant position. But I'll go on about that in my own thread another time...

...as for the matter at hand! I really, really like this page since you just took Chris' page and totally spun it on its ear. Whenever Chris writes a female character, their entire dialogue and raison d'etre is to "orbit around the belts" of the male characters and be proud of their female genitalis- so proud they they should be willing to expose themselves to the world at large, irregardless of their age. Here though, you took yet another one of Chris' groan-inducing lines and made it feel natural and innocent. You made them feel like children instead of a pair of fuck dolls. So all the points to you - you done great. Also, glad you were able to meet your Sunday "deadline." Keep up the great work!
