Sonichu [Fan Comic] Rosechu's Story - A reimagining of the Sonichu story from Rosechu's perspective.

This is really good, I really am liking seeing another side of the sonichu story.

However, there's one Pokémon that evolves if it hits level 30 while you're holding the 3DS upside down. I can't think of any possible way to explain that in-universe.

What...? WHY?

So I read that Brunswick stew usually contains at least one or more types of meat, the authentic recipes using squirrel or rabbit. Going by Pokemon equivelants, does that mean Kel is essentially cooking Bunnelbies/Pachirisus? Or would it be more along the lines of Miltank/Tepig/Torchic meat? The Pokemon cartoon was always weird about meat, IIRC.

There's a lot of theories out there about this, actually, ranging from the civilization in pokemon being so advanced that they don't need food, to there being normal animals (in the anime, there are normal looking fish (seeing as how it's japan, that makes a lot of sense), but that doesn't stop the subject of eating pokemon coming up in the show, and it even shows up in the games. From the first games where there's a story section about slowpoke tails being a delicacy to the actual pokedex entries explicitly saying that they are eaten and/or considered delicious.

As far as what that has to do with the brunswick stew, though, I imagine Kel wouldn't make it from scratch, at least not enough to where she's catching pokemon and killing them herself. I feel like, as someone who works closely with pokemon, she wouldn't want to deal with killing them directly, for emotional reasons and practical (many pokemon have a keen sense of smell, and quite a lot of them aren't stupid, so having the scent of pokemon blood about you might get a little problematic)

So, whatever meat she's using for the stew, I'm thinking it'd be store bought, whether it's pokemeat or not.

Love the comic so far .Will you explain why Kel lives alone in a cabin in the woods? Because that's something I've never really understood. The only decent theory is that Kel is a Disney princess who was banished by her evil step-mother.

Yes, we'll be exploring Kel's situation and what she's doing there in a secluded cabin. It'll be important to her and Rosey's character development, after all.

Additionally, here's a sketch I did of Silvana when I was first trying to decide how I was going to go about drawing the Sonichus and Rosechus. This isn't her final design, obviously, we're a long way from seeing her in the comic.

I definitely want to redesign those clothes, at the very least.

Awww, yeah! Silvana! She was always one of the more interesting Rosechus. If only Chris had worked the character into something more than a throwaway villian. I'm sure you'll do her justice!

Really, when you think about it, Sonichu should have been the weakest of his group. He's a single type that mutated from a Pikachu. Everyone else either mutated from a stronger evolution or is a duel type with more available moves and such.

Also, I was thinking to myself the other day "Perhaps people need to start writing/drawing their own extensions on the franchise since OPL doesn't do anything anymore", turns out I need to check the forums more often and more thoroughly than the weekly check of the Update and Discussion threads.

I think that's an awesome idea they could be collected somewhere a la Asperpedia comics. I'd scribbled ideas for a back story for Wild Sonichu's parents. So it would be a story involving Venusaur, Scyther and Wild. One day I'll draw it... One daaaay!!!

Funny you should mention that the CWCollateral-verse has touched upon that idea a few times, the best example I can think of being in Snorlax's Daycare For Sonees and Roseys. I don't have her role in everything completely solidified yet, but I hope whatever I come up with will work well with the rest of the story. There's a lot of characters who aren't going to get as much attention as the others, though, and Silvana's going to be coming late to the party as it is.

I don't know. I suppose dual types are better because they have more than one attack type that they specialize in, but that doesn't necessarily mean they have more moves available.

Oh boy, if Chris ever read my comic... I would love to see what he thinks of it when it's finished, but more than likely he won't read it past the first few pages and will dismiss the rest as the usual troll comic.

I only read the beginning and some bits in the middle, but it seems at least partly similar to what I'm planning to do with the comic. The difference being that there's really only one person who's going to be portrayed as someone with absolutely no redeeming qualities, and that'll only be because his redeeming qualities decided to leave and do their own thing.

I am interested in seeing how you will try to make Sonichu a redeemable character, since in all fairness, despite being derivative, I did honestly wish to see him to fully understand his origins and abilities and could've made for an interesting story arc...at least until Chris stepped in, Sonichu took a backseat, and eventually The Electric Hedgehog Pokemon devolved into the loathsome, sex crazed creature that most "fan" fiction depicts him to be. The only times I recall seeing Sonichu as being a sympathetic character was in one of the fics in the "A Very Sonichu Adventure" and "Sonichu: The TRUE and HONEST Comic" when I went on a CWC fic binge after reading CWCollateral.

I think Chris has left enough backstory bits that he never really elaborated on that you could take advantage of like the loss of his parents. Who knows, Sonichu may even serve as an interesting foil to Rosechu for that reason. Rosechu had a family, lost it, but came into the care of Kel. Sonichu on the other hand didn't have that luxury when he lost his own family. If you can make me give a crap about Rosechu in a single page, then you can do it again with Sonichu!

So, turns out that sometimes emergencies happen, and I got to spend the last 9-10 hours with a friend who was having a psychotic episode, but is also deathly afraid of being institutionalized. Not fun watching someone you like trying desperately to get out of having to stay the night in the psych ward. I stayed with her as long as I could at least...

This is also why tonight's page is half finished. Unfortunately, depending on how the situation goes, Sunday's page may or may not happen. I'll update again when I know for sure.

Lineart and blocking for the speech/thought bubbles are finished, but not a lot else. No tails for the speech bubbles either, so you get to play a rousing game of "who's saying what".
