Sonichu [Fan Comic] Rosechu's Story - A reimagining of the Sonichu story from Rosechu's perspective.

Aw, he misses his parents. Really curious to see how the whole "transforming into Rosechu" gets handled by Raichu and Kel (specially Kel).

Not trying to spoil it, but Kel's reaction isn't going to be quite that interesting. Not to me, anyway.

I'm jealous for the fact you can draw "cute." Whenever I try cute, it usually ends up looking unnerving. Ah well, I have a suspicion things aren't gonna be too much cuter very shortly.

It'll start to get a little uglier at times, but I'm going to try to keep at least some of the cuteness throughout the comic. Currently this includes the unenviable task of making Sonichu and Rosechu's love story relatable and believable.

Also, when I played Pokemon (gen 1), I always named my Pokemon, but usually gave them terrible names. My Zapdos was named KFC, and named something like Hedge. Sometimes the original name is better, depending on the trainer.

I think I laughed at the KFC thing a little more than I probably should have. I tend to either give my pokemon nonsensical names, misnomers, or just silly names based on their looks. My favorite and most used pokemon is a Gardevoire that I named "Melonhead" when it was a Ralts. Had no idea I was going to end up loving that little green celery stick so much, but I couldn't bring myself to rename her.

I honestly never really got into nicknaming all my Pokemon until I did my first Nuzlocke. Now it feels weird not to.

Wow, I seriously can't wait to see what role Chris had in the creation of Sonichu. My guess is that it had to do with trying to merge the two universes in the game cartridges together and the rainbow was somehow caused by the fusion of two works that were completely different from one another.

Oh and when I played Pokemon Y, at the start I would nickname some of my Pokemon with themes in mind(I.E. I nicknamed my Squirtle(Now a Blastoise) Taro after Urashima Taro, a character from a Japanese folktale, or I gave the Lucario I got from Korrina the nickname Aureole) One of these days I think I should try Nuzlocking...

Actually, I don't think I've really given it that much thought, at least not exactly in the context of the strict mechanics of their creation. I'm mostly trying to follow the comics for this, so there will be at least some understanding between Chris and his creations that he had a direct conscious influence their design at least at their first creation, but for most of the electric hedgehog pokemon it isn't something they exactly dwell on and have existential crises over.

I'd like to try Nuzlocking sometime too, I just like catching new pokemon a little too much. I don't know if I can stand getting in a battle with a pokemon I've never caught before and refraining from at least trying to catch it.

Raichu/Rosechu didn't seen to enjoy that any more than we do reading the original.

On the Nuzlocke topic, it's a really good way to enjoy pokemon you normally wouldn't use for one reason or another. But grind like hell if you can find a good place to. One unexpected crit can cost you dearly.

I can't imagine physical transformations being anything but excruciatingly painful. And yes, I know well the dangers of critical hits. I watched ProJared's Nuzlocke videos, and boy when a pokemon died, you could feel it.

You should see the comic ones where the Pokemon get personalities and such. Its especially hard when it's the starter that does.

Here's something to ponder aimlessly about though: Where did Rosechu's clothes come from then? Did the rainbow have something against public indecency?

Here's something to ponder aimlessly about though: Where did Rosechu's clothes come from then? Did the rainbow have something against public indecency?

Actually if you look very carefully in panel one you can see what looks like a very small dot. That's our director and True and Honest creator of Sonichu and Rosechu flying in with a change of clothes to change the newly transformed Rosechu into, just as he did with Angelica. In fact, if you pay attention to the Raichu's inflection in panel two when he says "RAI!?" you'll notice that it roughly translates to "Holy shit, is that a flying fat guy!?"

Interestingly enough, the concern on Kel's face isn't from the fact that her pokemon got hit with a rainbow (Kel actually knows enough about rainbows to realize that they aren't tangible, and couldn't possibly do any damage if they hit something), but from the fact that some creeper was just messing around with her starter pokemon, and had flown off at that point.

Seriously, though, I think they just kind of came from the same place her pink fur and green eyes did: rainbow magic.
