Interesting, I like how you used the female NPCs and the Pikachu Evolution line to depict Rosechu's life as a regular Pokemon. You've given Kel and Rosechu more character in a single panel than Chris could in ten issues! You've actually given me a reason to care about these characters! Though this moment is bittersweet knowing what will happen next...
Thank you

The outfits were to help make it seem like more time has passed, like how we see the Pichu evolve into a Pikachu, and then a Raichu, we also see Kel in her cutesy preteen phase, to her awkward-ish teen phase, to her young adult self while still trying to keep a mostly consistent color pallet. I'm glad it appears to have come across as well as I intended.
Holy crap, you gave me a reason to give a crap about Rosechu!
I actually wasn't expecting anyone to express interest in her so early, but thank you. Hopefully by the end I won't have taken your heart level completely to 0%. ^__^;
I have a sinking feeling this is going to get all sorts of Velveteen Rabbit meets Crying Game depressing real quick.
Hey now, no foreshadowing. Only I get to do that.
I don't know about Velveteen Rabbit, but there is going to be a BIT of the Crying Game in the future, though it'll take a slightly different direction, and mixed in with just a tiny splash of mild body horror. I won't spoil anything else about it, though.
Also on a side note, I'm really digging the art style in this comic. The art itself is simplistic and charming, but there is enough small detail work that doesn't make this feel rigid or anything. S'good. Keep it up!
Yeah, I don't know why, but this style seems to work better for me. It helps me focus on the whole composition and not on being a neurotic perfectionist about every little thing. I used to do this kind of art all the time in school, where we only really had MS Paint to work with, so it's really interesting that I feel like I thrive better in this more pixelated style.
