Gobi is pretty good, but Old World Blues introduced a unique sniper that just gives you all the mods for free and it isn't even hard to get. Difficult to go back to that one once you try it, altho Gobi is a perfect weapon for Boone if you don't plan on giving him an Anti Material Rifle.
I watch him, and sometimes Jabo, while doing the dishes. He's the reason I wanted to do this to begin with.

I've been through Primm so many times but have never picked this up. I just don't spec into lockpick super early and never go back after making Primm Slim sheriff. I guess this will be my weapon of choice. Thank you for the suggestion
Anti material rifle on Boone is this game's journalist difficulty. Dude picks off enemies the second they spawn in, sometimes the combat music doesn't even have time to start.
That's just Boone in general even with his default scoped hunting rifle, which has infinite ammo. At least with an AMR the ammo is expensive(and weights a lot, assuming you're not a pussy and play in Hardcore).

Another really mediocre weapon you would only really use for roleplaying purposes or style points. The base 9mm with extended mags is actually better, if you're going to use a 9mm you might as well go the whole mile and use Vance's SMG. If you're going to use a semi auto pistol, at least use Light Shining in Darkness like The Lord intended.
You know how in a bunch of modern games a character will keep sperging on and on about how badass they are and how big their dick is or whatever and then they get into combat and die instantly?
