Is it possible, in your opinion, that Barb put him up to this? Not the Lego thing specifically, but a general "go ask the internet people for more free shit" command (which he then expanded on by tacking on his request for Legos)?
I don't think Barb's aware that she could do this. Well, and plus, if Barb told him to do something, I think he'd just do it, without putting too much thought into it. But it's possible, I suppose.

I didn't give Chris anything when his house burned down, and he still isn't going to get anything from me this time either. I would have, but to use his own ironic words, that thieving liar doesn't deserve a red cent.

If I thought he'd use my money responsibly I might have actually sent him something, but of course since he's Chris he never would. Food he already has, and legos are the absolute last thing he needs right now especially since he wont be in that rental house for long. Even if he were to get every single brick and mini-fig he ever wanted he'd never be able to keep them all.

I wonder, speaking of his current situation, how much longer will the insurance company continue to deal with Barb? Their patience is wearing thin, last I heard.

Well, the "Why Didn't Cole Invite Me To His Wedding" video and the "Valuable Dali Replica STOLEN by GREEDY FIREFIGHTERS" definitely seemed like Barb was feeding him stuff to put online.

This is classic "give Chris an inch and he'll take a mile".

People only sent him shit because he was in dire straights and most of the people on the forum are True and Honestly nice. He got a lot of great stuff from here and good for him because it probably helped and made him feel a little better after losing his house.

Of course, he doesn't understand the difference between charity and begging. He got some stuff without asking so he's sure to get twice as much (and more specific stuff) if he tells us what he wants, right?

Oh, I'd specifically think she wasn't involved with those things. The connection between Barb and the greedy firefighters would just be that Chris was emotional about the fire and he was exposed to a lot of her bitching, which he just parroted back.

Jesus, that Death Star is $500, the Falcon is $200, the Malevolence is $150.
Gotta love it that Fatty thinks people will just give him $850 worth of Lego because he plays the "My House Burned Down" Card.

And that's just the High End Star Wars sets, everything all together must exceed $3,000.

Added it up pages ago. About $4313 counting the two additional sets he added (not counting the mini-figs).

I was talking to someone in mumble today and he said it's like a manchild version of "if you give a mouse a cookie."

timtommy had a great point, I'll say that and leave it at that.

Does anyone know if Barbara is taking some or all of the Social Security check and saving it so they can rent another house or something? That would explain why he can't try to get some of this himself.

if everything i fucking owned burned to ash as i type this, i would feel so greateful and humbled for anything i recieved. i would probably literally shed tears of gratitude. i would feel guilt at having to take it, and i sure as hell wouldnt ask for more, let alone fucking trash little plastic bricks. that doesnt make me unique, most people would react the same as i would.

i cant say this makes me angry, but for those of you that helped him, i would be mad as all fucking hell if i were you. youre good folks for having done it, and i tell you now...

dont ever do it again.

Bob 'n' Barb always took a hunk out of it for room and board. There's no way she's given that up, even if they don't own their current housing.

Don't assume he can't. He just wants other people to do it for him and when that fails, he'll start buying some of this shit himself.

god fucking damnit, chris.

I know I really shouldn't expect his behavior to improve/change for the better in any form or fashion from what we have seen already, but still, goddamnit, chris. where is his tugboat going???

It's exactly like the attraction sigh. Chris thinks that if people just know what it is that he wants then they will want to give it to him.

That's possible, but I don't see Barb having the foresight to do that. I think they are just in a bad spot so she's taking more of it than usual.

Chris STILL has like $4,000 in debt from even before Bob was born. And before the fire, with his free reign of his own money, I'm sure he somehow managed to make that hole even deeper. Even people with current outlandish debts can and do get credit cards. As of now, Chris is still barely managing to pay the minimums every month. This, of course, only covers the current interest so he'll never be done paying it off.
Pretty much. In the past, Bob has always had to step in to take over his debts so he never had to face the consequences. I don't know who he thinks is going to pay his cards off for him now, though.

Whatever we think, Chris isn't a completely exceptional individual, he knows better than to apply for a new credit card to buy a couple grand worth of legos, especially if the only place he has to put them in a temporary living space with Barb.
Yeah, he knows better. But he's decided that he shouldn't have to face those problems. Paying for what he wants is for the common people, not him.

I am surprised however that he's asking stuff to be sent to 14BLC, is he really going to go there every other day and check the mail? Or maybe 14BLC has mail forwarded to his current address and he's trying his best not to leak that out?
His temp house is right across the highway, right? Chris can jog (figuratively) over there to collect mail; gas may be expensive, but the distance is short.
