For many people, a VPN is accepted as being their best bet for protecting their data and online privacy. While cyber security is certainly a concern for them, most VPN users aren't exactly adept when it comes to information technology. Like any consumer, they typically err on the side of using a trusted name within the industry. In many ways, ExpressVPN is that standard-bearer. Since it began in 2009, ExpressVPN has signed up millions of users for its service under the promise that it does everything from encrypting data on their internet browser to masking their IP address in order to protect users against hackers and government surveillance.

use whatever, dont do super illegal shit because nothing is safe.

if youre torrenting shit, the noose is getting tighter as vpns get sued or bought out or outright lying.
If you're torrenting shit, GET A SEEDBOX. That's what they're for.

tor is a better option than any vpn

at the end of the day, any vpn provider has to be running a datacenter somewhere, which will always be subject to search and seizure by local authorities.
A lot of sites just flat out block TOR these days though. Even completely mundane sites.

yeah, it's sad, but not much can be done about it.

to get around that you could get a vpn, pay for it in bitcoin from an anonymous identity that can't be tracked to you, then connect to the vpn over tor. that way the vpn server only sees a tor exit and the site you're accessing only sees the vpn server, meaning your identity is protected.

The best method to be secure is not to give that info out. Free steps to secure yourself: use tor, use extensions that force https, use 3rd party DNS hosts / encrypted dns, use unique passwords for each login (a password manager helps).

If every VPN that sponsors a youtuber is bad, then what is a good VPN to use?
I use AirVPN. Seem to be fine.

Ah yeah, Kape, the same people who bought and ruined PIA.

Shit man, it's becoming hard to find a VPN that you don't have to pay out the ass for month-to-month. I use ProtonVPN right now because of that but I know it can't exactly be trusted either.

Frantech/BuyVM (who used to host KF back in the day) doesn't give a shit about seedboxes, so it's a good place to put one if you know Linux console. I had one there for a while.
