What's with Amber's aversion to going to the doctor? The doctor's the first place I go if I'm breathing as heavily as she is. :powerlevel: but last time I was breathing that hard was three days ago when a tenacious infection & a bad prescription drug reaction knocked me on my ass hard enough to land me in the hospital. It was so bad I spent the first two days on oxygen, & even mild exertion had me wheezing. (Luckily I can finally breathe again & am getting discharged soon, yay.)
Sorry to spill too much information, but my point is that I'm flabbergasted that she refuses medical assistance when she needs it so badly.

Because an actual doctor is going to tell her exactly what she doesn't want to hear. That she is at risk of DEATH every moment she breathes, she has the 'beetus, probably some heart/BP issues and that her days of going out to eat are over if she doesn't want to die.
She aint got time for that, there's more orange chicken that needs eating.

She doesn't go to the doctor about her breathing because it's "normal" for her. I went to the doctor's once when I couldn't walk 30 feet without gasping for air, something was really wrong. She's used to not being able to breathe at her weight, she probably doesn't notice it getting worse.

she's scared of feeling bad most of all, even if it is just for an hour. She's more scared of feeling bad for awhile from a dr lecture than of missing a medical issue and dying because of it. She's that narcissistic.

She has become flippant towards doctors because she knows they will just tell her the same thing no matter what she's there for (back aches, lethargy, painful joints etc). The solution is always here have some meds AND LOSE THE GODDAMN WEIGHT FOR LONG TERM SUCCESS. To people like her, the doctors don't know any better other than to parrot the same shit because they're all fat shamers, completely ignorant that losing weight in general will make even chronic conditions more tolerable.

She doesn’t like being TOLD anything whether she knows it or not. The thing is she is too stupid to realize that she doesn’t know shit and therefore doesn’t want to be told anything at all because she thinks she already knows it all.
It is interesting that AL loves to play the victim, yet all of the shit going bad in her probably would gain her some actual sympathy from others. I think it boils down to being petrified of getting confirmation of what she already fears. If she doesn’t go to a doctor and get told that her worst fears are actually very real then she can pretend like nothing is wrong with her. That goes for everything EXCEPT an excuse or scapegoat for eating like BED that she was hell bent on getting a professional to just say those words. Any other thing diagnosed would mean she would have to change her eating

Isn't Amber's birthday coming up? I'd like to think Becky is planning a very special box for our gorl.
I'm picturing a dainty pink box with some suuuuper cute scrunchies painted on it alongside some fancily-scripted excerpts of Amber's best writeen:

The birthday/Christmas extravaganza is going to be fun to watch.
Around Rickie & Eric's b-days I noticed that Becks made a point several times to mention that heartfelt gifts are better than just buying a huge bunch of stuff.
She almost seemed a bit embarrassed by all the shit shoved into Rickie's gift bag, especially the cheap framed pictures that you know Amber insisted on because Rickie barely even knew who Betty Paige was. I kind of got the feeling that pre-AL the roommates probably just made each other gifts or bought 1-2 meaningful presents.
This definitely won't stop Amber from buying Becky a massive wall of crap (because lezbereal our gorl has always been about quantity over quality) but I guarantee Becky is going to get her one nice thing (with Al's own $$) and make her some pitiful crafts. And knowing Amber, she'll bully Becky into opening up their Xmas presents on December 1st so she'll have TWICE the amount of cheap, meaningless gifts to open!

I do wonder, if there was no food-slave, I mean 'Becky' in the picture... Would she lose some weight just out of necessity? Because you know there are days when she just lays in bed and barks at Becky or whoevers neaerby to get things, or clean up her messes etc.
