ethan is so fucking twitchy in that video. it can't just be ozempic, he's definitely tweaking on something.
i'd also like to note that mark's reaction to the l.a. fires was to load up his car with a chainsaw and tools and drive around helping people (and not vlogging it). mark almost certainly has some kind of dark side we don't see, he's human after all, but actions are what counts, and mark's actions have consistently been wholesome and generous, which is why everyone loves him.
as regards his voice, here's mark 15 years ago, at age 20-- still the same voice.
that's from some random promotional video he appeared in. in his early YOUTUBE videos his voice is higher because he's new at it and not speaking naturally, something he's discussed in later years-- that he didn't know how to project and was nervous to be on camera. the deeper voice is actually much closer to how he sounds.
that said, of course youtubers, like vtubers or radio DJs or anyone else in that line of work, have an "on-camera voice." they're literally professional entertaininers. does ethan think michael buffer sits down for dinner and is like "LLLLET'S GET READY... TO PASS ME THE BREADSTIIIIIIICKS"

You don't have to be a fan of him to understand that he's:
- One of the few high-profile Youtubers that almost religiously avoids getting into drama, spats, beefs, egregious activism, grifting, scamming, or any other degrading lolcow behavior.
- He seems like a genuinely Good Guy who cares about his friends, family, neighbors, and fans.
- He walks the walk, giving away a lot of money to help people but isn't a shameless attention whore about it like someone along the lines of Mr. "I love Trannies and Pedophiles" Beast
- He's Mother Teresa, Buddha, Gandi, and Jesus Christ combined compared to Ethan Klein

Specifically he's complaining about Markiplier muting him on Twitter 4 years ago, after he made a grim tweet about trying to get Hila pregnant
He discovered he'd been muted a year later after Markiplier mentioned it on a podcast, and then seethed about it, complaining about Markiplier having a SFW OnlyFans and that he'd ghosted Ethan's invite to come back on the podcast, and arguing that Mark should unmute him.
He continued to quietly seethe about it - to my knowledge Markiplier never addressed it again
The most recent blowup has happened because Ethan - who clearly has been nurturing his petty grievance for years - mentioned on one of his streams that Markiplier is a "psycho" for changing his voice and that he's annoying and fake, and suggested starting a "Snarkiplier" subreddit (and getting mad at chat for not agreeing with him)
This clip became popular on /r/YouTubeDrama which lead to H3H3 fans brigading the subreddit even more (they were already brigading over Hasan), which Ethan encouraged by specifically calling out the mods of the subreddit on another stream. The /r/YouTubeDrama mods have now banned anyone who regularly posts in /r/H3H3Productions (and /r/H3Snark, because they're sick of the constant Ethan arguments).
Thus his recent stream. As I said it being a "content nuke" is really about his upcoming 90 minute Hasan video and the Markiplier stuff is a "joke". But obviously he's still malding about getting muted on Twitter four years ago and ghosted by a big content creator, so while he's styling it out as a joke, he's a petty spiteful little man.

absolutely pathetic behavior. ethan says in that very clip that it's stupid to start drama about unfollowing and then proceeds to tantrum for five minutes about being muted. but oh wait he's constantly rolling his eyes, making weird tic-y head and mouth motions and picking at his hideous hair so i guess it's "ironic."

Agreed. A roomate's girlfriend was way into him and he was just super shrill and really annoying. Though he's really toned down his retarded TWELVESPOOPYFOURMECHAT! act a lot last time I saw him.
he makes me think of the Irish strearmer Jack-something, who stopped being a cringe "overreact" personality once he started getting real work.
This. Mark doesn't get involved in drama, he doesn't even do a lot of collabs. He just makes his content which is "bad but not the worst" and its really hard to get mad at him when he's not actively on the screen. He doesn't do politics, he doesn't force himself where he doesn't belong. I think his fans are generally annoying but I guess I just can't get my head around anyone reacting strong to his existence.
He also bet his chat that if they hit some crazy St. Judes donation goal he'd make an only fans and upload nudes. And he delivered, uploading some artsy pictures. So I do respect someone who sticks to their word.

Yea from everything I've seen of him he just comes off as a practical guy. He seems content with his success, strives to do more, but doesn't over extend himself into things that are obviously retarded. I haven't seen a ton about him, but from the times I have seen him, I never saw him do or say something and just rolled my eyes over it, which for most creators, even those I like, is pretty rare.
I think Ethan is just mad that Mark wasn't interested in dealing with his petty shit whatsoever. Like it's one thing to get into a pointless shit flinging contest, it's another thing to be completely disregarded because someone doesn't think your worth their time, and for Ethan being the clout obsessed kike he is, that's gotta burn.
Not gunna lie, I don't like that, but compared to the much more common alternative of getting exposed as a thirsty sex pest by an E-whore, I'd say it's preferred.

I don't remeber the details but I think another streamer talked him into it or something. Like it wasn't his idea. He set some massive goal. It was clearly "I'll eat my hat if we raise over a million dollars" that was never supposed to be met, but he delivered and didn't bitch out when it was met. PEople said The kantent is like a half-dozen artsy B&W no-visible-dong stuff. so its sort of ehhhhh.

Figures. That would actually be good content.
He absolutely has done some obnoxious politisperging before, particularly in '20 and '22 with BLM and heartbeat bills respectively. He doesn't hold a candle to Ethan though, and unlike Ethan his content stands on its own.
It's pretty hilarious that the best "own" Ethan can find on him is he deliberately makes his voice more listenable for his content. Ethan's annoying whine makes for a start contrast.

Markiplier is irrelevant to me but it's kind of crazy to watch someone go from zero to "he's a psycho" so quickly over being muted on social media
It's the 'tism twitch. If you watch enough people with autism you'll see that they have facial tics like this like raising their eyebrows or blinking abnormally hard/long.

The reason why Ethan is mad at Markiplier is because Markiplier muted his Twitter account because he posted a tweet about how much he loves creampieing and knocking up Hila accompanied with a gif.
Markiplier openly talked about it in his podcast and committed the sin of making Ethan feel even the slightest bit of shame for being a degenerate coomer with no social filter, thus making him an enemy for life and a "psycho" in Ethan's eyes. Ethan is mad because Mark kinkshamed him.
