Because Ethan, lets face it, looking back at the stuff he used to make...wasnt very funny to begin with. He was riding on trends and he simply happened to be the lucky egg to ended up the most popular of the bunch.
We overhyped him (well, I never did but I digress) and he bought into his own hype, especially after fighting and winning a court case for "fair use". Suddenly he thinks he is more important and smarter than everyone.
He has reached a point, or rather "the" point, where a content creator doesnt need his fans anymore because he has risen above them. Rarely we have a creator that doesnt become a dettached ivory tower leftist freak (assuming they werent one already) after that.
These people are either legit delusional, malicious or a disturbing mixture of both. I refuse to believe most of them arent aware of the hypocrisy, they simply choose to ignore it because we are dealing with a group of people that have convinced themselves that they can do no wrong.

I watched some of his content back in 2016 after watching the Vape nation video, thought he was alright but nothing special, stopped paying attention to him around 2017.
Years later I came across the (I think) gokunaru video and it all made sense, thats why It never made me sad to see Ethan "turn" into what he is now.
