Eternauta is an Argentine comic book from the 1960s created by Héctor Germán Oesterheld and currently has a series produced by Netflix, which will be released on April 30, 2025.
The plot revolves around an alien invasion that uses toxic snow that causes death in seconds. Over time, the aliens leading this invasion will begin to emerge. The comic book plot takes place in the 1960s, while the series plot takes place in the present day, but both share the same protagonist: Juan Salvatore. This is the most important comic book in Argentina, but it took years for it to be represented in fiction thanks to the author's grandchildren.

It’s already out? Guess I’ll have to take a look. I wonder if they will keep the political theme of imperialism or if it will be “modernized”?

There's no way they will resist the temptation to include a Trump/AMERICA! jab at some point due to the anti-imperialism theme of the OG work.
Inclusion of a Venezuelan woman, which by Argentine standards is like including 100 black people and a transsexual.
Is she ugly to boot?

Already watched the first two episodes and I’m enjoying it so far. They set it in modern day Argentina and in a more urban location.

They’ve definitely expanded upon the implications of the snow dropping in the summer and where people would be at the time.

There’s one scene where our main character encounters a train with passengers huddled in a closed off area, desperate for help. I don’t think that was in the comic and it adds to the horror of the situation everyone is in.
