Well fuck me. Why didn't I expect this shit to happen when this shit always happens. I was actually enjoying myself for once and actually had to congratulate null for pulling off an authentic chan expirence without too much bullshit and of course it has to be gone in fucking hours. And of all the things to take down 9chan for, it had to be lack of moderation? If your looking for a website with a lack of moderation, 4chan and gab are right there and are still running just fine. Fuck, 9chan had a no lolicon rule right out of the gate which is something that I couldn't say about 8chan before it went down, or any of the chans for that matter. In fact, 9chan had a fuckton of global rules for a so-called "free speech website" so the fact that this Rob dude is giving null shit over """lack of moderation""" is laughable at best and a bullshit excuse to remove his opponents at worst.

And you bet your ass that this is going to get smeared all over the walls by journalists and think tanks in the next few days or so.

I should have seen this coming but I was caught completely off-guard as well. I thought that 9chan was hosted in the same way kiwi farms was hosted.

Don't worry though, it'll be back.

Frankly, the most interesting part about this whole fiasko is to see how dear leader can't take the same kind of mail that he sends out to answer takedown demands.

Actually, there's a bit of a distinction between 'I will hold to the letter of the law and not remove material that is entirely legal' and 'I am a faggot who pretends to be an evangelical Christian and all my decisions are made to serve the people who I nominally believe killed the representative of my God on earth' (the Prophet Jesus wasn't killed, but if Monster was a Christian he would believe that he was murdered).

The powers at be will absolutely refuse to let a "freer" alternative to 4chan exist (because, again, 4chan's monitored by them) and they will employ some underhanded, unprecedented, borderline illegal techniques only the U.S. government could get away with to do it.

One singular asshole, whose entire Twitter history is rife with moral crusades against shit she personally doesn't like, and Rob Monster surrenders like the elastic band on Jake Alley's sweatpants. I'm not even exaggerating, the first twenty or thirty pages of her Twitter feed is trying to deplatform people.

It's not just the govt. The NGOs, media and corporations in general seems to be pretty much have one agenda when it comes to stuff like this. We could call it the system so to speak. It's schizo posting, I know. But for some magical reason, the same coordinated boycott and media attack and later legal trouble always seem to happen. The theme of the last decade was pretty much the elites freaking out about the internet, while trying to control it in a way that still allows them to bully their rivals. (For example, wouldn't trying to overthrow governments be like against the Terms of Service on Twitter aka Arab Spring?)

It's a good question how can one survive such an attack? Maybe having tons of money, powerful friends and living in a far away country can give one a shot at this.
