Actually, it happened to me too. It happens to a large portion of the world population, but most people just convince themselves it was a dream, never telling anyone else about what happened to them because it's embarrassing. In reality, it is called "Old Hag Syndrome" or sleep paralysis. Sometimes while your body is sleeping, your brain will wake up, yet fails to send the wake-up call to your body, meaning you are 100% paralyzed in your own body, but are, at the same time, fully awake. During this period, you will almost certainly hallucinate. Some common hallucinations include an old witch sitting on your chest, or higher beings or aliens holding you down and raping you. Until your body awakens, you cannot move, and you can't control your breathing, and as such it seems like you aren't breathing at all, which is why some people think they died too. You cannot scream or move a finger, or any muscle in your body, except for your eyelids at times. People commonly mistake it for alien abduction and other such events.

If sleep paralysis happens to you often enough, you being to lose all fear of being paralyzed and molested by hallucinations, and you quickly learn how to lucid dream, literally becoming a god in your dreams.

When Snow talks about things like "astral rape," you can be 90% sure she's talking about sleep paralysis.
