Yeah, Elon is full of shit here. He gutted USAID and it's now being pointed out, publicly, how it's going to result in millions of deaths and he's trying to do damage control.

Then add in the other disastrous cuts that DOGE did (which usually got undone pretty quickly and quietly) and it's not hard to see why Elol is trying to do damage control

DOGE eliminated pretty much every grant and contract they could find. There was no requests for aid recipients to show evidence of proper usage.

Elon cut aid for millions which will lead to millions of deaths, on top of destroying entire sectors of the American economy by terminating contracts. Denaturalize and deport.

We won’t hear their suffering, we will only see their remains due to his retarded beliefs that he alone could change government spending.

This logic too, pisses me off. Lets assume all of this makes perfect sense and is 100% true (its not and it doesnt). The argument they are trying to make is basically "But funding USAID leads to bad things too!".

Musk and his sycophants went in, deleting shit at random, while people with knowledge of those programs begged them to just let them try and explain what those programs do. They literally told them: If you cut X, Y will happens. They cut X, Y happened and is still happening. To try and go from that to "Giving aid caused 9/11" is amazing, really.

Im just bothered by the stupidity and lies. Even propaganda has become shit, we deserve better propaganda.

The ideology behind the destruction of USAID is multifaceted. You have the obvious foreign interests of Russia and China that want to be rid of US soft power. Then there are the conspiracy theorists concerned about color revolutions. Mike Benz is definitely the second kind of person and I would like to believe is also in that first category, but I don’t have evidence of that. You have Trump appointed lunatics like Mark Lloyd, an Islamophobic religious freedom advisor at USAID from Trump’s first term. According to whistleblower Nicholas Enrich, Mark believed that USAID employees threatened his family and killed his dog. These people have grudges with USAID, so it’s obvious for why they wanted to dismantle it.

Musk got fed the right messages to make him believe the destruction of USAID was a worthy cause on his DOGE crusade. Focus on the organization’s disinformation projects, spending on woke activities, and smatter it with classic boomer slop rhetoric of ‘muh gubermint corruption’ and tax dollars going to foreigners.

Musk is now stuck with the consequences of having cut programs that will lead to the deaths of millions and the loss of thousands of jobs for Americans. He could go out and say that he’s ok with all that happening, but even he knows outright saying such would be disastrous for his image.
