You're treating them like some uniform mass, e. g. Roko (of the basilisk trolling) seems to quite enjoy it from what I remember of his X posts. He seems surprisingly grounded in general.

I was never in the rationalist circle (more in academia and then various companies without much influence from them) and hardly knew they existed (mostly joked about over beers at conferences) until they somehow got hired en masse to OpenAI/Anthropic etc., so I honestly have no idea.

He doesn't seem to engage much with the big names on X iirc., so it sounds plausible. Though they could also just want to forget/memory-hole how he embarrassed them, similar to the Zizians.

I don't know, his latest tweet is about humans giving up their society to robots as soon as possible. Maybe he seems grounded in relation But then again, he dropped some massive redpills before. I wouldn't trust anyone calling himself a "radical centrist" anyway .

To be honest, I love these fedorians so much because every single one of them brings such a unique hand of shit takes. Also exercise is bad for him for... reasons, okay? His skinnyfat soy arms look exactly like what you'd expect for someone who loses weight without lifting, but the failure to build muscle is actually because of his very special metabolism. Anyway dieting and exercise felt bad, which rationally can only mean he must have a metabolic condition so rare there isn't even a name for it.

Oh, so Mr. Super Rational is one of those fat faggots with bitch tits who claim the laws of conservation of matter and energy somehow don't exist in his vicinity. He has one of those MAGIC metabolisms. He can consume no calories at all, and yet lipids appear out of nowhere to afflict him with obesity!
 
What does this fucker eat anyways? The only food related sperging I've seen from him was about apples and potatoes being "basically" the same thing, since they both need to be peeled and sliced.

IIRC when he decided to start doing keto he went out and got a ton of ultraprocessed ready made "keto" products, instead of eating normal things like chicken breast and veggies.

His ideas around losing weight are very fat coded: he's not going to make small improvements to unfuck his daily diet, he wants a crash diet that lets him eat as much as he wants while magically melting off the fat super quickly.

Lesswrong maintains (or, at least, used to) something like a hangout and recruiment center in Moscow.
I don't think they're connected to some intelligence apparatus, just that Yud's club is a cult that preys on autistic horny jewish boys, and Moscow used to have a large diaspora.
The people that attend lectures about "intelligence and rationality" at that place were legit clinical spergs.
