Some people liked Eldar Ring, but I'm not a souls fan so that looks more of the same to me. I've not looked into Fatal Frame, because it'll likely get butchered by Treehouse like the last one.

The only thing that gives Elden Ring an edge is that it has GRRM writing its backstory. As much as I hate the fat retard, he can write a good backstory and history. It's everything else about him that's terrible and I'm hoping he didn't try to infect From Soft with any politics, but as far as I know he's been surprisingly quiet about it compared to other authors. Or at least more quiet than them.

The Switch had nothing but a cross-gen Zelda game for the first year. Microsoft hasn’t been a “titan” since the 360.

The system launched in March. It also had the Mario Kart port. Splatoon 2 came out in the summer.Mario Odyssey came out in the fall. Xenoblade 2 was in December. Then there was also lesser stuff like Arms, lots of good indie games, a good share of ports and remakes. It was probably the best year 1 since, I dunno, the 360?

I'm guessing I'm the only one here looking forward to the Bandai-Namco conference to see if we get another goddamn Tekken 7 season pass...

But as previously meme'd, I think Nintendo had the best showing this E3 because they remembered why people tune into E3 - to be entertained and remind vidya players you're here to have fun. Yeah, one could argue that E3 is, at its core, is a trade conference, but that's a weak-ass argument. It's like saying going to the beach is only for you to sit on the sand and look at the beach. Granted, it is Nintendo which means the cost for admission for most of their games is a bit absurd, and they bank HARD on nostalgia, but it's literally the only presentation I remember genuinely smiling.

Second best showing was Microsoft/Bethesda, because they played a similar tune to Nintendo and kept it mostly focused on games, although the Forza presentation bogged it down quite a bit, plus they're still way to reliant on CG trailers, and there wasn't any amazing showstopper presentations or reveals. Halo Infinite looks like a Halo game. Stalker2 looks pretty spiffy. Starfield... looks like a space game. Nice to see Atomic Heart is still a thing. Name drops for Perfect Dark, Elder Scrolls 6, and Fable.

Probably the most telling part of E3, at least IMO, is the fact I think Capcom's presentation was the third place best performer, and that was literally DLC, Monster Hunter Xtra Weebishness, Virtual Novel 101, and ESports Exist. But it was quick, and the presenter actually didn't look like a deer in headlights.

After that, everything was just bad.

Ubisoft = Pander pander pander ignore the sexual misconduct allegations pander TV series and movies shit pander pander oh look game for a decade-old IP you vaguely remember watching.

Square-Enix = Deepthroating Disney's cock for half an hour, a headpat to the FF-brethren, and CHAOS!!!

Devolver Digital = Essentially that one kid that said one funny joke once, kinda funny the second time, and then repeated it another dozen times until it was just annoying.

Most of the rest = few sparkly gems in an overwhelming pile of shit.

If you want to take about progessiveness in games, fine. Methinks though considering how 95% of all games I saw this last few days, if a straight white guy was around he was immediately flanked or superceded by a not-straight white guy, I think progressiveness is pretty well established in the games industry to the point of absurdity.

But that's not the main issue.

The main issue is that this is a game conference and you decide to spend your time with a shitty Zoom call to lecture people who bother to tune in on the same shit they've had lectured on to the point that I'm absolutely convinced that it is shit like this, this vacuous, pretentious, narcissistic bullshit, that makes more bigots than the KKK could ever possibly dream of converting themselves. You have accomplished nothing in your poorly concieved and poorly implemented circlejerk except annoy everyone else and angered your core base.

Is it possible that these are just different points in a conversation chain, or just a different conversation entirely? There's a lot of differences between the US and JP trailers as is.
